Park Cities Pediatrics is dedicated to providing personalized and straight forward care for children from birth through college. We are conveniently located in the heart of Dallas, Texas in Preston Center. Our goal is to assist your family in raising healthy and happy children. We seek to keep our patient volume low, which allows us to spend as much time as necessary with you and your child. About Dr. Matthew Simon
The fourth of 5 children, Dr. Simon was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory, Miami University in Ohio, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and recently completed residency at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Matthew, his wife Emily and their ever loyal dog Chuy reside in North Oak Cliff and are expecting their first child this winter. History of Park Cities Pediatrics:
Park Cities Pediatrics was born out of Dr. Pharo & Associates. Dr. Milam Pharo was Dr. Simon's pediatrician growing up and was THE pediatrician in the Park Cities. He was a true "Doogie Howser" graduating high school a year early to enter WWII. He graduated from Tulane Medical School after the war and served in the Korean War before finishing his training at Children's Medical Center and starting his practice in the Park Cities. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 87 on June 10. He was devoted to his patients and his practice and continued practicing up until the day before he died. Over the years Dr. Pharo saw generations and generations of his patients and over that time had become a fixture of the community: He truly was a part of the community, something Dr. Simon greatly admired. Dr. Simon always appreciated Dr. Pharo's straightforward approach to pediatrics and his acumen as a diagnostician. They became close during Dr. Simon's final year of residency after spending time seeing patients with together, both in and out of the hospital. He took Dr. Simon under his wing, giving him the advice of both 64 years of practice and 87 years of life. Shortly after his passing Dr. Simon received a phone call from his family asking if he would continue his legacy and take over his practice. It seems he had never stopped talking to his family, patients and staff about how much he also admired me. It is an honor to be chosen as Dr. Pharo's successor. Dr. Simon went into medicine with the goal of opening a private practice and building lasting relationships with his patients and their families, becoming a part of the community.
