The Clinical Psychology Diversity Club is a registered student organization at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. This club was founded by three clinical psychology graduate students in February 2008 as an effort to improve their training in diversity-related issues in clinical psychology. The Diversity Club believes that diversity encompasses all of the features that make individual clients unique, which include, but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, and country of origin/regional location. This group welcomes the membership of interested faculty, PhD/Masters/Post-doctoral students, and staff at UT Southwestern. This student organization meets monthly to discuss diversity as it relates to clinical psychology. Meetings may involve discussions of relevant literature or clinical experience, or attendees may hear from guest speakers from various organizations in the community. In addition, the Diversity Club aims to provide volunteer opportunities for under-served and under-represented populations in the community and to compile resources for client referrals. The Clinical Psychology Diversity Club page is published by the Clinical Psychology Diversity Club, a registered student organization. "Scientific evidence strongly supports the conclusion that homosexuality is a normal expression of human sexuality; that gay men and le****ns form stable, committed relationships that are equivalent to heterosexual relationships in essential respects; that same-sex couples are no less fit than heterosexual parents to raise children, and their children are no less psychologically healthy and well-adjusted; and that denying same-sex couples access to marriage is both an instance of institutional stigma and a contributor to the negative treatment of le***an, gay, and bisexual people. In short, the claim that allowing same-sex couples to marry undermines the institution of marriage and harms children is inconsistent with the scientific evidence."

APA's amicus briefs present an accurate and comprehensive summary of the current state of scientific and professional knowledge on issues before the court, in this case, sexual orientation, same-sex relationships and the children of same-sex couples.
