What an amazing achievement for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare 👏

Did you know the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare is one of the longest-serving Cohen Clinics in the country? This year, we are proud to be one of two clinics celebrating a 10-year anniversary, alongside Cohen Veterans Network itself.

Clinic Director Dr. Chelsea Fiduccia accepted the anniversary award at last week’s Annual Meeting in New York City. She is pictured with Dr. Rhonda Gaston of the San Antonio clinic, which is also marking 10 years of service in 2026.

In May, we look forward to celebrating this milestone with a meaningful evening that brings together military-connected community members, partners, and staff to honor a decade of service, impact, and collaboration. Stay tuned for more details!

Fresh air does more than feel good—it reduces stress and helps us reset. 🌿 With spring in full swing, now is the perfect time to step outside and take care of your mind.

Grateful to our partners at NBC DFW Community & NBC DFW for helping spread awareness about the power of the outdoors. 💚

NBC 5, Telemundo 39 and Metrocare explain the positive effects that being outdoors can have on your mental health.

Important Announcement - We Rock the Spectrum SW Dallas

We wanted to share an important update with our community. Due to unforeseen circumstances, We Rock the Spectrum - SW Dallas will no longer be open, effective immediately.

We understand how meaningful this space has been for so many families, and this was not an easy decision. We are incredibly grateful for the support, trust, and memories that have been created within this community.

For any families wishing to transfer their visits to a nearby We Rock the Spectrum location, please email us at reception@wrtsfranchise.com. This will allow us to keep accurate records and notify nearby locations so your account and visit details can be updated accordingly.

People with developmental disabilities still face significant barriers to full community participation.

According to the CDC, these barriers include:
🚧 Attitudinal barriers (stereotypes, stigma)
🚧 Communication barriers (lack of accessible information)
🚧 Physical barriers (inaccessible buildings, transportation)
🚧 Policy barriers (laws that limit participation)

This Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, let’s commit to removing these barriers—not just in March, but all year long.

What can you do? Start by listening, learning, and advocating for inclusion in your community. For more on how to advocate for people with Developmental Disabilities, check out these tips from The Arc of Texas at https://www.thearcoftexas.org/policy-advocacy/

Yesterday, we celebrated the of Metrocare’s EMPOWER Hub, launched in partnership with Richardson ISD 🎉

Since 2023, this collaboration has supported students across multiple RISD campuses by delivering mental health education, early intervention, and resources during the school day. We work closely with educators, counselors, and caregivers to help students build coping skills, resilience, and confidence.

We are deeply grateful to RISD for their innovation, leadership, and trust in Metrocare as a partner in student wellness. The new hub provides a dedicated, accessible space where students and their families can connect with our team and receive support right in their community 💙
