At 36 years old, Mike Morris was diagnosed with stage 3 colore**al cancer. Looking back after almost 24 years cancer-free, Mike writes…

Dear Daughter,
I wish I had known more about our family history, so I would’ve better understood my personal risk. At the beginning I was embarrassed because, like most people, I didn’t want to talk about my symptoms or do the things you have to do with your doctor. Now, I call it, ‘checking my oil’. While it may be uncomfortable to discuss symptoms or get screened, it’s crucial to reducing your risk. Just get screened.
Love,
Dad
