Throughout Black History Month, AHH will be sharing something meaningful each week to honor this year’s theme:

A Century of Black History Commemorations—marking 100 years of dedicated efforts to preserve, protect, and celebrate the contributions of African Americans to our nation’s history and culture.

What began in 1926 as Negro History Week, founded by historian Carter G. Woodson, grew into a movement that reminds us Black history is essential American history.

This month invites reflection, learning, and deeper understanding—not just of the past, but of why remembrance still matters today.
