Clarksville ranching family in search of an In-Home ABA therapist/Homeschool teacher for their 10-year old boy with autism. This is a great position for a teacher looking for a change, a paraprofessional, or somebody that is going to graduate school for ABA, Speech, OT, PT, etc. Supervision will be provided by BCBA in Dallas, TX via telehealth, but ability to work independently is a must! We are looking for somebody that can work on 3rd & 4th grade academics, behavioral reduction, and ABA goals (communication, social, and fine motor skills). No worries if you do not have ABA experience, we are willing to train the right candidate!
Sample Weekly Schedule: Extremely flexible work schedule with guaranteed 35 hours per week. We are also looking for somebody willing to do community outings, coordinate social skills groups, work outside, etc to help work on social skills, communication skills, and following instructions in a community setting!
Monday: 8 am-4 pm—Library Day! Head to the local library to pick out books on the subject matter for the week, and work at the library for a while. Head back to the house for lunch and afternoon activities at home!
Tuesday: 8 am-4 pm—Enjoy the Nice Weather! After completing some morning work, head outside for active activities and a picnic lunch! Working outside is a nice way to work on application of anything learned so far—writing spelling words with chalk, checking on plants/garden he is planting in science, graphing colors of animals or leaves he sees outside, natural walk, etc.
Wednesday: 8 am-4 pm—Grocery Store Day! After completing some morning work and making a grocery store list based on a recipe, head to the grocery store to get everything needed to complete a recipe! Head home to work on client following written instructions to measure ingredients while baking a dessert! Afterwards, follow up with verbal questions and a written journal on what he made, how he made it, and how it tastes!
Thursday: 8 am-4 pm—Homeschool Outing Day!! Morning work at home with crafts and planning his day with a visual schedule and journal, then head to the skating rink to play with other homeschool friends!
Friday: 9 am-1 pm—(Flexible to do half-day Friday’s or work every other Friday). Friday’s can be used for community outings, any make-up work, and working on generalizing his communication and social skills out in the community!
Requirements:
-Must have at least 1 year of Teaching, ABA, or similar experience.
-Must possess great written and verbal communication skills with the entire team.
-Must be able to be an independent worker, flexible to new situations that arise, and ability to maintain ethical relationships with both clients and their families.
-Ability to pass background check and legal to work in the US.
