Spring sports are back in full swing—and so are the injuries. 🏃‍♂️⚾️🏀

On this , we’re highlighting some of the most common sports fractures we see: wrist, clavicle (collarbone), ankle, and finger fractures.

If pain, swelling, or limited movement lasts longer than 24 hours after an injury, it’s important to get it checked out. Early diagnosis can make all the difference in proper healing and preventing long-term complications.

Our team at Texas Orthopaedic Associates is here to help keep you moving safely all season long. 💪

Physician Assistants (PAs) are highly trained, licensed medical professionals who practice medicine alongside our orthopaedic surgeons — and they are an essential part of how we deliver exceptional care at Texas Orthopaedic Associates.

Our PAs evaluate patients, diagnose injuries, assist in surgery, create treatment plans, and help guide recovery every step of the way. By working hand-in-hand with our physicians, they help ensure our patients are seen quickly, treated thoroughly, and cared for with the highest level of expertise.

Outstanding care isn’t just about who you see — it’s about the entire team behind you. And our PAs are a big part of what makes that possible. 💙

From “temporary tattoo” to permanent reminder

What started as a pre-op joke turned into something we’ll never forget. After four surgeries — three on her left foot — this patient was so happy with her final outcome that she decided to make her surgeon’s pre-op initials permanent!

Dr. Will Crawford always jokes that marking the surgical site is just a “temporary tattoo.” In this case, it became much more. She even included the initials of his PA, Megan Northcutt, MPAS, PA-C, who spent countless hours alongside her throughout the journey.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Grateful for the trust our patients place in us every day.

From the sidelines at FC Dallas preseason 👏⚽️

Dr. Walter got a firsthand look at the exciting upgrades coming to Toyota Stadium — including a new east side canopy for shade, updated seating, and what will be the largest video board in MLS. Bigger, better, and built for Texas-sized moments.

We love seeing the spaces where our athletes compete continue to level up. 🤠🏟️

Coffee in hand ☕️ images on screen 🖥️ spine cases on deck.
Just another busy morning for Dr. Wheeler—reviewing, planning, and getting everything dialed in before heading to the OR. Big cases start with good prep (and good coffee). 💪🦴

Last week, Russell Smith, PA-C, and Marlee Porter, ATC spent time at the new Tarleton State University campus in Fort Worth, where they led a hands-on suture lab for master’s athletic training students from across the state attending the Southwestern Athletic Training Student Conference. We are super proud to have them on our team and grateful to have been asked to be included in this event.
