Today the residents of Royal Oaks, and the Dalton community at large were treated to a presentation by a significant local author. Writer, Michael Tuggle, delivered a powerful presentation regarding his recently published novel, “Hummingbird”. The book addresses the many issues surrounding human trafficking. In researching the book Michael worked closely with Susan Coppedge. Susan and Michael both attended Dalton schools and grew up together. Susan was a great help in that she served as a US Ambassador at large regarding human trafficking under President Obama.

We had the privilege of sharing deeply meaningful items today, such as handmade quilts, a novel presented to a friend who knew American poet Robert Frost personally, beautiful needlepoint art pieces, a Hawaiian Church painting from her many travels, a lovely ceramic artwork reminiscent of the family home, a painting made by her now 60-year-old daughter while attending Dalton High School, and a lovely photo of a resident and her spouse.
