Do you know what ranks as the most dangerous profession in America”? The Answer is “No,” “No,” and “No,” unless you guessed that of nursing and medical care giving. I had foreknowledge of the answer because of my experience with my father-in-law. It wasn’t until I started reading statistics that I understood the magnitude of the problem. When I first met my father-in-law, I thought, “Wow! What a giant of a man!” But 40 years later, I was thinking, “Wow! How are we average sized people going to lift this bedridden 6’7” frame?” His center of gravity was so different from ours that nearly all family members caring for him suffered back problems. So I started thinking, “Surely there has to be a better way to move patients.” Research told me that
1. 600,000 injuries and illnesses occurred in the health profession in 2010 (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
2. 1.8 tons per shift is lifted by nurses (Tuohy-Main)
3. 20% of nurses who leave direct patient care do so because of risks associated with the work.(OSHA)
4. 20 billion dollars in direct and indirect costs is annually associated with back injuries only in the U.S. (OSHA)
5. 7x higher disorders of musculoskeletal problems among nurse aides, orderlies, and attendants occurred in 2010 than in other industries. (OSHA)

Why accept that this is just the way it has to be? So I went to work to produce
the Nurseaide. The Nurseaide is

1. less than 1 mm thick.
2. lies on top of the hospital bed mattress.
3. is covered with a fitted sheet.
4. enables a 90 lb. nurse to lift a 300 lb. patient with one finger by pressing a button. In 2030, when the Baby Boomer generation will have turned 65, seniors will make up one-fourth
of the U.S. population. Since medical advances are now allowing Americans to live longer, 5.8 million of those people are projected to be older than 85 years. More divorces among our population and fewer children to support the aged compounds the problem, so the need for Nurseaide becomes critical. Nurseaide is ready to go into production, with a start up cost of around $100,000. With your
financial support , we can give relief to professional caregivers, as well as to in-home families struggling to care for aged or obese loved ones. Additionally, please share or LIKE on Facebook or other avenues of social media so word can get out about the amazing product, Nurseaide.
