I don't always tell y'all but, throughout the year I set aside money from your services for donation purposes. Last year I struggled with what to do with the money I had accumulated, so I just held on to it. With all the bizarre weather we've had this year, air travel has been heavily impacted, and the USO at DFW airport where I volunteer (we can always use a few more helping hands) has seen a huge uptick in guests staying in the terminals overnight, as we are not a 24hr facility.
The majority of these guests are not prepared for this, especially those heading to bootcamp, but fortunately we keep a stock of donated toiletries. That stock has been depleted, replenished, and quickly depleted again this year; that's when I decided what to do with Some of your donation funds.
*nail files, toothpaste, deodorant (both multi-application stick and one time use packets), shaving gel, body wash to-go; Plus a new dispenser for our shower (for our all day/multi-day/international travelers who haven't showered in a while), along with 4 gallons Each of shampoo and body wash*
