We are so thankful for all who rounded up, donated a bit extra, and to Damariscotta Hardware for having this program and matching the funds!

Thanks to all our customers who rounded up their purchases to raise
$1,237.00, which we matched and rounded up for a total of $2,500.00 for Healthy Lincoln County. We are so fortunate to be part of such a generous community! For the rest of December, we will be rounding up for C.H.I.P. to help provide heating assistance to those who need it.

Some bad news, friends. Our plumbing still is not fixed, so we have no water for bathrooms, sinks, the sprinkler system, etc etc.

Due to Maine Library Standards, and concerns about fire safety, Skidompha will be closed Wednesday, December 17th.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience, and are working to have it fixed ASAP.

Stay tuned for updates!

Since today is record-breaking cold, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that it is nice and warm in the Library. You are always welcome to come on in, to be warm and safe.

Thinking about where to donate on this Giving Tuesday? Support HLC's Winter Relief Fund! ❄️🩵🥫🤝

This fundraiser will support people across Lincoln County who are struggling to afford food and other essentials. The funds raised will help us provide:

Gift cards that offer flexibility and choice

Emergency food boxes tailored to health and dietary needs

Financial partnerships with other Lincoln County food access programs.

Your donation will help to ease the burden of our neighbors in need and fill the gaps for families and individuals this winter, so they can access the food, comfort items, and non-food essentials they need. Thank you! 🫶

Happy Monday, Lincoln County! We wanted to share something positive today and highlight something we’ve been working on and will continue to work on for the next few weeks.

For Bringing Food Home, our column in the Lincoln County News, we are visiting all LC pantries to speak with the volunteers and get familiar with the way they’re organized. All food pantries are unique- they have different things, need different things, and use different models for distribution. Some have certain eligibility requirements, while others don’t need anything but a phone number. It can be intimidating to go to the pantry for the first time, and it can be difficult to support them when you don’t know where to start.

As of today, two of our pantry profiles have been printed (New Harbor and Alna) with another to be printed this week (Whitefield) and in the weeks to come. We hope these profiles help answer some of those ‘frequently asked questions’ and give you a better understanding of how they work.

We’re a few days late to say what we’re thankful for, but we are SO thankful to our food pantries! For being there week after week, month after month, with open arms and wonderful food, especially this time of year! 🦃🍗🫜🍠🥕🌽🥧
