In 1974, Dr. Ralph Falkenstein opened a solo ophthalmology practice in Danbury's Peacock Alley. He later expanded and moved his practice to 69 Sand Pit Road, and in 1990, he and his partners, Drs. Matthew Paul and Stephen Mathias, joined forces with Drs. Paul Ruggiero and Turpin Rose to form Danbury Eye Physicians & Surgeons—now known as Connecticut Eye Consultants, and still located at 69 Sand Pit Road.

This week, Dr. Falkenstein retires from patient care after 47 years of service to the Greater Danbury community, shifting his focus to education and consultancy. Please join us in wishing him well in this next chapter of what has been an outstanding career.
