Stokes County Government Offices will OPEN on a two hour delay at 10:30am on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Due to the potential of additional snow accumulation overnight.

Waste Transfer & Recycling Center and Greenbox Convenience Sites will also OPEN at 10:30am

Stokes County Government Offices will be operating on a delayed schedule tomorrow, February 3rd. Offices will open at 1:00 pm.

All Green Box Waste Disposal Sites and the Waste Transfer Station will also OPEN at 1:00pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

**Tax Listing Forms will be due back in office at the Tax Listing Office by 5pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Stokes County Government Offices will be CLOSED tomorrow, February 2nd, due to the winter storm.

This CLOSING includes the Waste Transfer & Recycling Center (Sizemore Road) and all Green Box Waste Sites across Stokes County.

** If you have a Tax Listing Form that is due, it will be due to the Tax Office on the next business day after the deadline on the form.

Due to icy conditions on the roads, all Stokes County Government Offices will be CLOSED tomorrow, January 27th.

This includes Senior Services, and the Waste Transfer Station (Sizemore Road) as well ad County Greenbox, Convenience sites.

We thank our essential staff who have been working tirelessly to keep our residents safe!

Winter is coming for us this weekend! Please stay safe out there and stay off the roads!!! Emergency services will likely be attempting to keep the roads free of debris and we all need to stay put if we can! Take care of each other 💜💜💜 if shelters are opened we will post here with updates ❄️

Some very kind Stokes County residents made some blessing bags for anyone in need. They include a little Christmas candy, some hand warmers and gloves. As always our resource packets, gun locks, and Narcan are available 24/7 during the holidays in our purple box 💜🎄💜
