First athletic competition of the new year, watching some incredible gymnasts put their hard work on center stage at the Brestyn’s Invitational. Gymnastics is a physically impressive sport in its own right, but getting to work alongside these athletes as they compete at high levels mentally as well, is extraordinary.

Keep digging, keep climbing, keep working ladies 💪🏻

That’s a wrap on RI Invitational! So proud of all the gymnasts and all their hard work! Even more proud of those moments when you gave it you all even if you were scared/nervous, competed new skills, reset yourself after a frustrating moments, and focused on your big goals and the journey to get there!

Back to work, there are only 4 days and a wake up until your next meet!

I am angry. Instead of ranting for an few pages about failures in the medical system my clients live with or the lack of education about our own bodies, I just want to say one thing.

If you come to me with a problem and are honestly willing to put the work in, I will go on the journey with you. I will help you look at all the aspects that may be affecting your pain. I will connect you with people who know more than me. I will tell you where my head is at. I will tell you why I'm doing what I am doing. I will help you know more about your body. And I won't stop thinking about it when you walk out the door. I can't promise that I can fix everything, but I won't just kick the can to the next person. I'll be there with you as much as possible.

She said “ATP” and I might have seen stars and took every ounce of self control not to yell “KREBS CYCLE”. I am a super nerd 🤓 and she tolerates it. I may or may not have read her sister anatomy books when she was a baby. 🤷🏻‍♀️ BUT for real, we need to start teaching the depth of the human body to kids and help empower them to make choices to keep themselves healthy for the long term. I work with so many adults who “wish they had known when they were younger”. It’s hard to advocate for yourself when you don't even know the parts of your body, let alone the systems.

You have to make the choice over and over and over again. It not a one-and-done change. “This is hard” 👉 “I don't care if it is hard, I am going to do it to get closer.” “I can’t” 👉 “I can, I’m just not there yet”. Keep going, keep pushing yourself. If you truly want that going, put your belief in the journey and the work every day.

Had a fantastic conversation with one of my high performance clients last week. He said that when he first saw me it was for a specific issue and we got to the bottom of it by the second session… (spoiler alert, I sent him in a different direction than massage therapy because massage therapy is rarely a long term solution to pain, but massage therapy can help in SO MANY WAYS when combined with physical & mental exercise) but he is still seeing me 3 years later because when he gets off the table he is mentally and physically ready to win. So a special thank you to all you clients who keep coming back after the initial issue is felt with. Thank you for believing in the process and your consistent work towards your goals. And thank you for allowing me to be on the journey with you!

Now back to the millionth load of work laundry for the day.
