We want to thank everyone who made it out to NFI Presents: A Night of Comedy at Giggles Comedy Club this past Wednesday night.

We had a fantastic turnout and were able to raise over $5,000 for OT equipment at Northeast Diversion!

We especially want to thank our fantastic sponsors: ArentFox Schiff, East Bay Pharmacy, Garlic Breath Pizza, JES Industries, and Vera Carducci.

We couldn't have done this without them and the support of our fantastic community. We'll have more to share soon!

Our own Mairin Schreiber (Director of Quality and Development) and Ben Orzechowski (Quality and Compliance Manager) had the pleasure of presenting “Performance and Quality Improvement Made Simple: What Is QI Really and How Does It Improve Performance?” at this week’s ACRC 70th Annual Conference in Chicago.

QI is integral to our work here at NFI, and we love sharing our expertise with our colleagues around the country.

Our Leadership team is presenting this week at the ACRC 70th Annual Conference in Chicago.

Cindy Powers, Assistant Director of Operations, and Shantelle Castle, LICSW, Division Director, are leading a workshop focused on an issue many providers across the country are grappling with: how to better support young adults transitioning out of systems of care.

Their session, “From Aging Out to Signing In,” focuses on practical tools and the role of peer navigators in helping young adults stabilize, access services, and build pathways toward independence.

It’s great to see the work happening in the Commonwealth contributing to the national conversation.

We appreciate Cindy and Shantelle representing NFI MA and sharing their experiences with colleagues from across the country.

What Is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapists use evidence-based, theory-driven, and sensory-based interventions to provide treatment for those who have experienced challenges that hinder their ability to engage in meaningful and purposeful activities. Suspension swings are a standard occupational therapy intervention that will further enhance evidence-based approaches at Diversion.

Suspension swings can be used for calming or alerting effects, preparing youth to work through their trauma, develop play skills, build emotional regulation strategies, integrate sensory systems, increase attention and focus, and further enhance overall treatment.
