With hearts filled with love and cherished memories, we are delighted to announce the triumphant passing of Mr. Edward Lee Carter, Sr., of 1633 Sandy Creek Church Rd., on Monday, November 10, 2025, at his residence, marking the commencement of his glorious eternal journey. A jubilant celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at D.L. McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 4960 Riverside Dr., Danville, VA, where family and friends can gather to pay tribute to his remarkable legacy. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Noon at the D.L. McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Carl Luck delivering a message of hope and comfort. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 with a viewing beginning at 11:00 A.M. followed by the service at Noon at the D.L. Mclaughlin Funeral Chapel. Elder Shawn Logan will deliver the Word of Comfort. Interment will be privately held at a later date.

Mrs. Fannie Catherine Gunn Motley,89, of 2532 Lawless Creek Rd., Blair’s VA., departed this life at her residence, Friday, September 26, 2025. She was born in PittsylvanIa County, July 8, 1936 to the late Walter Gunn and Annie Echols Gunn. She was married to the late Mr. John A. Motley. She is survived by two children, Keva Wilson(William) and John Motley, Jr., grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Andre’ L. Motley.
The family will not be meeting at the residence, but request friends and family to meet for a visitation, Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4:00-6:00P.M. .L. McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 4960 Riverside Dr., Danville, VA.
