After an amazing weekend of classes during Super CE Weekend, our parade was rained on Monday night / Tuesday morning. We have significant water damage to the Danville Area Training Center. We anticipate two months to get everything back to 100%. During that time our classes will continue! Fortunately our two large classrooms were not affected. Three of our smaller clinical rooms were damaged. We will be able to work around the construction to make sure our customers get the best training available. Maybe we can work a couple of construction scenarios into our EMT Class and Advanced EMT Class!
The support we have already received has been unbelievable. The local agencies that showed up Tuesday to start the cleaning process was amazing. Keep an eye on our FB page and the FB page of the DLSC to see how the work is progressing.

Dr. Mack Drake will make his first appearance at Super CE Weekend on Saturday, February 14th. He will be teaching a class on Burns. Dr. Drake's class starts at 10:30am.
Dr. Drake is double board-certified, with added qualifications in Burn Surgery and

🚨 TICKETS ARE ON SALE! 🚨

🥶 Now that the weather has settled down a little (even if we’re still covered in ice), let’s talk about something fun—and something that makes a real difference.

Helping Heroes Benefit (formerly the event known as the Gala) is back on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Atkinson Barn—and this year, it’s been completely reimagined as an elevated, social night designed for connection, conversation, and celebration.

Think: heavy hors d’oeuvres, music, big raffle energy, and that little bit of “you had to be there” magic—all while supporting life-saving care when minutes matter.

General Admission Tickets:
• 1 ticket: $125
• 2 tickets: $200

VIP option also available (limited!) — enjoy an upgraded experience and early access before the main event.

Ticket link will be in the FIRST COMMENT (or scan the QR code/visit the link on the graphic).

For questions, VIP details, sponsorship information, or to pay by check, please contact Kim Losee at klosee@dlsc.org or 434-792-2739.

Let’s celebrate the heroes who answer the call—and the community that makes it possible!

"Stuck Between a Joke and a Hard Place". What a cool title! Stephen Sutton will bring that title to life as the last class on February 14th. His class will start at 4:15pm. Steve is the Vice President of Virginia NENA. He has been a part of emergency services for better than thirty years. Which means he knows dark humor well, just like the rest of us. This is a great class to end our day at the DATC.
Super CE weekend is in its 15th year! Tommy Pruett has to be looking down with a huge smile on his face. We hope to continue making him proud. Big thanks to Gretna Fire & Rescue, Virginia International Raceway, Henry County Public Safety, Danville Fire, Chatham Fire, and Pittsylvania County Public Safety for the amazing support of the Super CE Weekend.

DATC Director Brian Alderson opens and closes the Sunday of Super CE Weekend. His 8:00am class is titled "Impressions". We hope it has nothing to do with talking like someone else. His 4:15pm class on Sunday is the last class of Super CE Weekend. Brian will cover the 2026 WVEMS Protocol Update. He is on the committee that reviews the WVEMS protocols over the year. Being the last class, he might even get you out 5 minutes early!
Don't forget you can attend in person at the DATC, Chatham Fire, Henry County Public Safety, and Gretna Fire & Rescue. VIR employees can attend there and Danville Fire employees can attend at Station #1. More information is available at https://www.datc.training/superce.

Bob Page has traveled all over the world (and USA) to educate an amazing amount of providers of all ranks and stature. We are excited to get him back to Danville for our Super CE Weekend on February 15th. Bob will be up front for two different classes. His first is Sunday at 12:30pm. "Putting the 'P' Back in CPR" is a great class about the basics. Nothing is more basic that CPR, right? His thoughts on ventilation may surprise you! He follows up with the next class titled "How Vital are Vital Signs?". Another great class that takes many of us back to our roots in EMS. Are we doing vitals correctly? Are we going through the motions?
See Bob and other great presenters at the Super CE Weekend on February 13 - 15. Check out the DATC FB page and the DATC website for more information.

The Danville Area Training Center will host the 15th Super CE Weekend February 13 - 15, 2026. Over three days, providers will be able to participate in 7 one-hour courses per day to receive continuing education (CE) hours. There will be classes for BLS / ALS in all CE areas.

"Fueling Your Future". Sounds interesting? Sounds important? Yes and Yes. We heard this presentation at a Chamber event several months ago. Immediately we thought about Super CE Weekend. Sean Nix of Soular Development will bring this class to life on February 13th at 1:45pm. The high majority of classes in EMS are about trauma and medical emergencies. Sometimes we need to hear thoughts and a reaffirmation that we are important. We count. We have support. We matter. WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Check our FB event for the Weekend schedule. Please sign up to attend at one of our sites to catch all the classes available to you. Continuing education credits will be awarded for each class.
