ABOUT S*X ADDICTION 101 – THE BASICS OF ASSESSMENT & TREATMENT
This 3 hour CE event includes a film screening of “The Courage to Love” - one of the first documentary films ever made about s*x addiction followed by a basic training about s*x addiction by the filmmaker - licensed marriage and family therapist and certified s*x addiction therapist Paul Ginocchio. This event will benefit mental health professionals to help in the assessment of s*xual addiction and to understand basic treatment protocols for working with s*xually addicted clients.
Training Objectives:
Identify and assess for behaviors of the s*xually addicted.
Describe treatment considerations for s*xual addiction.
Identify basic treatment protocol and therapist resources for working with s*xually addicted clients.
Bio
Paul Ginocchio, MFT, CSAT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified s*x addiction therapist with a private practice in Walnut Creek. In addition to his clinical work, Paul is the creator of The Courage to Love - a pioneering documentary film about s*xual addiction that tells the personal stories of four individual’s journey from the shame of s*xual addiction to the hope and healing of recovery. The Courage to Love is one of the first documentaries ever made about s*xual addiction and Paul has traveled around the country screening the film to audiences to help educate about this hidden addiction. * 3 CE credits will be provided to participants. BAPTI is approved by the California Psychological Association to provide continuing professional education for psychologists. BAPTI maintains responsibility for this program and its content. CPA Provider # BAY 012. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) now recognizes CPA continuing education credit for license renewal for LCSWs and MFTs.
To receive a CE credit you MUST sign and include your license number on both the Sign-In and Sign-Out Sheet. Participants must attend entire training to receive CE Credits. No partial credit will be provided.
