Joanne C. Aurand, 92, of Danville, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Emmanuel Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville, PA. She was born November 6, 1933, in Williamsport PA, the daughter of the late Guy and Dorothy (Daneker) Casner

She graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1951 and from Cedar Crest College Allentown PA, in 1955.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert L. Aurand in June of 2003. They were married on May 28, 1955.

Joanne showed her love of children through teaching in the Danville Area School District for over thirty years. Additionally, she was the proud owner/operator of The Kiddie Korner Children’s Clothing Store in Danville for over 50 years.

She will be remembered as a servant to the community that she loved. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Her favorite pastimes were reading and knitting, especially prayer shawls and Christmas stockings.

Joanne was a devoted member of Shiloh United Church of Christ. She was involved in the Danville/Riverside Food Bank, Delta Kappa Gamma, Red Cross, Danville State Hospital shopper, and Adult Literacy tutor at Thomas Beaver Library.

She is survived by four children: Patrick Aurand (Eileen) of Havertown PA, Judith Edwards (Scott) of Danville PA, Janice Deitrick of Collinsville OK, and Andrew Aurand (Jennifer) of Alexandria VA; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. One brother, Robert Casner (Raline) of Danville PA also survives and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary Francis Patrick Neidig, Sr.,70, of Shamokin, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Geisinger-Shamokin Hospital. He was born in Shamokin Hospital, Coal Township, PA on July 2, 1955, the son of the late Robert “Fluff” Neidig and Elsie Bresadola (Koronkiewicz). He was subsequently raised for most of his childhood by Shirley Boyer Neidig.

Gary attended Catholic school and then proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was employed by many manufacturing companies including Ashland Metals and Alumo.

Gary was an active member of the West End Fire Company in Shamokin, PA.

He was an avid fisherman. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was especially fond of his feline companion, “Kitty”.

He is survived by one son, Robert W. Neidig of Danville, PA and one daughter, Diane Kayes (Ronald) of Shenandoah Heights, PA. Also surviving are four brothers: Steve Neidig (Dot) of Elysburg, PA, Keith Neidig (Paula) of Aristes, PA, Robert Neidig (Janet) of New Cumberland PA and Lou Wilson (Megan) of Locust Gap, PA and one sister, Kelly Reigle of Ashland, PA. He is also survived numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary was preceded by the untimely death by one son, Gary F. Neidig, Jr. December 4, 2009.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Interment on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA, where Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Honor Guard.

Robert Charles “Bob” Hendricks, Jr., 79, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pennsylvania on Monday, February 23, 2026. He
was born on December 27, 1946, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Robert C. and Martha J. Mullen Hendricks.

Bob graduated from Danville High School in 1964.

He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, having enlisted on September 14, 1965, and honorably discharged on September 13, 1967, achieving the rank of Corporal.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 39 years, Candis M. Lyons Hendricks. They were married October 17, 1986.

Bob’s latest employment was at Danville State Hospital, from where he retired.

He was a life member of the Danville American Legion Post 40; where he served as Senior Vice Commander. He was also a member of the original Honor Guard where he served as Vice President.

Bob was an avid golfer and played in the Monday Night Leagues at Cherokee Golf Course. His favorite football teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame. He was especially fond of his feline companion, “DiNozzo”.

Bob's sense of humor and genuine interest in others will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be fondly remembered for being a supportive husband, father and grandfather. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Michelle L. Keefer (Terry) of Danville, PA; Megan M. Whitley (Matt) of Elysburg, PA and one son, Robert J. Hendricks of Plains, PA. He is also survived by three stepchildren: Shon Springer and his fiancé, Crystal Roshon; Stacy Whapham (Zach) and Todd Springer (Aisha); all of Danville, PA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Jacob, Alan, Austin, Jayden, Derrek, Sidney, Ava, Gavin, Weston and Brielle. One brother, John William Hendricks of Sunbury, PA, also survives.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Albert and two sisters: Marsha Bingaman and Patty Hoover.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Walkthrough Celebration of Life to be held on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, 42 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA. Thelma Mae Herman, 93, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Vintage Knolls, Danville, PA. She was born February 22, 1932, in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late Losson and Anna (Leighow) Mader.

Thelma graduated from Danville Area High School in 1950. She received her diploma in Nursing from Lutheran Nursing School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1953.

Thelma was employed at Geisinger Medical Center as an Assistant Patient Care Manager in the Nursery and as a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center from where she retired in 1993.

She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Danville, PA where she was a Trustee for one term.

Thelma enjoyed reading. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan and enjoyed watching all the Phillies’ games.

Thelma will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, and her 30 years of care in the Geisinger Nursery. She loved taking care of all the babies and was well respected by her peers. When asked what she loved about working in the nursery she said, “It’s a special feeling. It’s so amazing, each one is so different…you feel like you have something God made right there.”

She is survived by two sons; Edward Herman and his wife, Peg, and Jeffrey Herman; both of Danville and four daughters; Karen Robbins and her husband Dean; Cindy Cavanaugh; Julie Sees and her husband Steve; and Kim McGaw and her husband Patrick, all living in Danville. Thelma is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Michael, Aaron, Steven, Patrick, Alyson, Caitlin, Sara, Cody, Rachael, Abbey, Anna, Brandon, Eric, and Brett as well as twelve great-grandchildren, Luke, Lillie, Charlotte, Lydia, Nora, Cameron, Colter, Lilly, Lucy, Jaxon, Henry, and Riley. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara Bordner and her husband, Richard, who live in Danville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son in-law; Gene Cavanaugh.

We are deeply grateful to the caregivers at Vintage Knolls for the dignity, comfort, and warmth they gave Thelma each day.

Thomas Patrick Flynn, 77, of Hop Bottom, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA. He was born April 12, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Edward and Rose Flynn.
He was self-employed as a mechanic for many years in Delaware County, PA.

Tom was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan. Like many of us, he had a love hate relationship with our beloved Eagles. He raced lawn mowers, loved to bowl and shoot darts. Tom was an avid hunter, builder and family man with the most cherished title of Pop-Pop. Always the life of the party, the first one on the dance floor and quick with a smile.

Tom is survived by his wife of 40+ years Mary Jean Steltz (Sangelo) formerly of Essington, PA. Together, MJ and Tom raised a blended family of 4 children - Jason (Sue), Jessica (Matt), Tommy (Mindy) and Brad (Sarah). Additionally he is survived by 8 Grandchildren - Ceire, Jake, Max, Marin, Jaiden, Lena, Nico and Everly. Also survived by his sister Carol and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ed (Sandy) and Pat (Doris).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to MJ and their kids on Saturday April 11, 2026 from 12 to 1pm. Immediately followed by a Celebration of Life to honor his wishes of sharing happy memories with laughs, stories and a good time. Both will be held at Charlotte’s Restaurant located at 3207 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square, PA.

Sharon L. Boyer, 79, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026. She was born on May 31, 1946, in Columbus, OH, the daughter of the late Richard D. Jantzen.

Sharon graduated from Columbus West High School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1964.

She was married to the late Gerald D. Boyer, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 5, 2022. They were married on September 20, 1969.

Sharon worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kenneth Heise, then went on to work for Geisinger Medical Center and Wal-Mart.

She was a former member of St. Joseph Church Choir, Danville for numerous years.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession into her personal life, where she found great joy in caring for her beloved pets, especially her Irish Wolfhounds and cats. Gardening was another passion, especially beautiful orchids.

She is survived by one daughter, Amanda (Boyer) Colegrove and her husband JonPaul of Valley View, PA as well as two grandchildren; Emma Shaffer and her boyfriend Caleb Fox and Zachary Boyer-Bankes of Sayre, PA. Sharon is also survived by one brother, Richard Jantzen of Florida.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at a later date.

Irvin Leon Snyder, 88, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 10, 1937, in Monroe Township, PA, the son of the late Henry J. and Verdia (Roush) Snyder.

He served his country with honor in the United Stated Army from April of 1955 to April of 1958, achieving the rank of Specialist 3rd Class (SP3) as well as receiving Rifle Marksman, Sharpshooter and the Good Conduct Medal.

He was married to his loving wife, Carolyn L. Snyder, who preceded him in death on March 18, 2024. They were married on December 5, 1987.

Irvin's life was marked by hard work and commitment. In his younger years, he helped his family by selling produce and Christmas trees. He then became a dock worker for Fullmer’s and drove truck for his late brother, Elwood Snyder, at Delmot Motor Express and Al’s Leasing of New York. His remarkable career culminated in 50 years of dedicated service at Hawkins Chevrolet, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and customers alike.

He was a member of Community Christian Church of Vicksburg, PA and Central PA Teamsters.

Irvin found joy in family gatherings. He found happiness in traveling and creating cherished memories with friends and family. His deep faith played a central role in his life, and he actively participated in church activities, steadfast in his commitment to his beliefs and community.

He is survived by Pauline (Stanley Sr.) St. Clair of Lewisburg; Verda (William) Keefer, and Irene (Timothy) Welsh both of Danville as well as four stepchildren; Eugene Jenkins of Milton, Charles Jenkins of Danville, Renna (James) Fausey of Danville and Neil Jenkins of Danville. Irvin is also survived by nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, Irvin was preceded in death by one son, Irvin (Sonny) Snyder, Jr.; one grandson, Jason Snyder, and several brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Irvin’s Life to be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12:00PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA with the Reverend Marc Snyder officiating. Nancy A. Boyce, 92, of Elysburg, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 28, 2026, at Geisinger Medical center, Danville, Pennsylvania. She was born July 20, 1933, in Shamokin, PA, the daughter of the late Russell and Verna Hatter Yost.

She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1951 and from Ashland Nursing School in 1955 as a registered nurse.

She was married for 54 years to the love of her life, Ned Alfred, who preceded her in death in 2010. They were married November 19, 1955.

Nancy was employed as a registered nurse at Sunbury Community Hospital and enjoyed private duty nursing.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Danville, PA, where she was actively involved in the Daughters of the Divine Sunday school class. In previous years, she was a member of Elysburg United Methodist Church where she served as their organist for over 55 years.

Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy was a vibrant soul with a passion for life. Her love for playing the piano and organ as well as roller-skating infused joy into her days. One of her greatest passions was creating beautiful holiday events that brought her family together, filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Nancy will be remembered for her contagious smile, her characteristic chuckle, and her wonderful sense of humor. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted follower of Jesus, known for her fervent prayers and her voracious reading of the Bible. Her faith was a beacon of light for many, providing comfort and strength to those around her.

She is survived by one son, Mark A. Boyce (Tammy) of Riverside PA and two daughters; Cindy S. Poliniak (Dave) of Riverside PA and Brenda A. Ferdock (Ed) of Elysburg PA

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Phillip (Rachel) Poliniak of Norristown, PA; Christopher Poliniak of Baltimore, MD; Bethany Thompson (Nathan) of Sunbury, PA;
Matthew Boyce (April) of Pleasant Grove, TX; Michael Boyce of Sioux City, SD; Mikayla Schembari (Stephen) of Bend, OR and Koryn Ennis of Mount Carmel, PA; and great-grandchildren: Abby and Sophia Poliniak; all of whom she adored.

Services and burial will be private. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.

Jamie Franklin Schenck, 51, of Danville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1975, in Muncy, PA, the son of the late Fred “Fritz” F. Schenck and Jane L. (McCracken) Shultz of Danville, PA.

His hands were as skilled with tools as they were gentle with those he loved. Jamie had a profound passion for cars, evidenced by his pride in his 1972 Chevy Nova and his father's cherished 1966 Mustang Convertible. He relished the family classics, including his Grammy's 1957 Chevy and his sister’s 1968 Chevy Camaro. These vehicles weren’t just cars to Jamie; they represented memories, adventure, and love shared with family.

Outside of work, Jamie could often be found tinkering with engines or lending a hand at Stine’s Farm. His love for tractor pulling showcased his competitive spirit and his desire to connect with others. A devoted furry friend, Chance, brought joy to Jamie's life, and the bond they shared was simply heartwarming.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Jody Schenck and her husband Tim Buckley: one aunt, Alice McCracken and one niece Skylar Schenck; and his stepfather, Stanley “Tony” Shultz, all of Danville as well as numerous cousins.

In addition to his father, Jamie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Dorothy McCracken and his paternal grandmother, Anna Schenck.

As per Jamie’s wishes, no services will be held.

Franklin Gerald Wilson, 81 of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born on January 15, 1945, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Walter and Mary (Nungesser) Wilson.

Frank graduated from Danville High School in 1962. He attended Bloomsburg State College.

He was married 57 years to Jill Balliet Wilson, the love of his life. Jill preceded him in death in 2021.

Frank worked in sales, traveling the country for KVS and RE Kelly. He finished his career working as a realtor in Danville and Harrisburg.

In his retirement, he helped manage the Elk's in Danville. Frank spent most of his life as a community volunteer. In his early days he was a volunteer ambulance driver, and a Lions Club member. He then became actively involved in the Danville Elks lodge, where he served in many positions, including Exalted Ruler in 1993. Later in life, he served as a historical reenactor for the Danville Iron Heritage Festival. He also volunteered at the Good Samaritan Mission in Danville.

Frank enjoyed fishing and golfing, but his greatest joy was hosting parties for family and friends.

He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to talk endlessly about his family to anyone who would listen.

Frank is survived by two sons, F. Pierce Wilson and his wife Lisa of Danville PA. Michael D. Wlson and his wife Christine of Swansboro N.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Brent, Madeline, Evan and Logan Wilson. He is survived by one sister, Judy Hickey.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Baylor, and brother Ronald Wilson.

Services will be held at a later date.

Heather L. Moore, 45, of Mifflin, PA, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, PA on Friday, January 16, 2026. She was born August 19, 1980, in Park Ridge, Illinois, the daughter of the late Kevin Lee Moore and Nancy Ann Chendes Moore of Lewistown, PA, who survives.

She graduated from Harry D. Jacobs High School.

She was an avid reader and especially loved music and singing.

Heather was kind, understanding and well known for her sense of humor and gentle personality. She will be remembered for her warmth and the love she shared with her family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by Elysia Dawson and Mel Moore as well as her grandchildren, Salvatore and Rosalie. Also surviving is one sister, Kristen Ronk and her husband Kevin, and one brother, Eric, and his wife, Denise.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
