Reflexology is a drug-free, complementary therapy that can be safely used in addition to your present medical care. Reflexology is not massage. It is the gentle application of pressure, using alternating thumb and finger technique. It is applied to specific points on the feet and hands, which reflect different parts of body. It is effective in helping the body return to its natural state of balance and can address many health problems. Reflexology encourages overall good health and promotes relaxation. It also releases inner stress and tension.
As proven by research, the benefits of Reflexology include:
Promotes overall relaxation
Improves circulation throughout the body
Aids in the removal of toxins
Helps the body to maintain a natural state of balance
Encourages the immune system to work at its optimal level
Helps rejuvenate the system and increase energy levels
Breaks up blockages affecting the flow of energy throughout the body
Relieves common aches and pains
Contributes to overall well-being for your mind, body, and spirit
Promotes healthy organ function
Your Reflexology treatment will not “diagnose” any problem. It is not a substitute for your current medically prescribed therapies and should not be sought as a replacement for your present care. Reflexology can however, support your body’s ability to heal itself. During your session the practitioner gently holds your feet or hands, while you are lying comfortably on your back. A session is usually provided with direct touch to the skin, however if you are concerned that you may be sensitive to the touch or ticklish, you can have the treatment in your stocking feet and it will be just as beneficial. The treatment will last 20-30 minutes.
