Affordable, culturally responsive mental health clinic and training agency supporting the San Ramon Valley community since 1971.

Discovery Counseling Center is a community based non-profit organization serving the San Ramon Valley for over 50 years. Discovery Counseling Center’s mission is to be the community’s leader in mental wellness by:
-Providing affordable, high quality, culturally appropriate and accessible counseling services and programs;
-Offering excellent and highly-regarded training for future mental health professionals;
-Creating greater awareness of the prevalence of mental wellness issues in our community and the importance of early treatment;
-Serving as the community’s advocate in securing adequate funding and resources for the treatment of mental wellness issues. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Mission Statement:
This committee will be Discovery Counseling Center’s agent for ensuring that the agency supports our diverse staff and the community which we serve by:
-Implementing effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies and practices;
- Providing on-going DEI training and education for Board members and staff;
-Promoting a safe environment in which DEI issues and concerns can be discussed and addressed; and
-Evaluating progress in our goal to be an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace.

Allegra and Eric were proud to represent Discovery Counseling Center at the SRVUSD GSA Forum, connecting with students and sharing resources that support mental health, identity, and belonging for youth across our community.

At Discovery, our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee helps ensure that our work reflects and supports the diverse community we serve. Their mission is to:

• Implement effective Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) policies and practices

A Bay Area native and Danville resident, Sumita leads our mission to ensure individuals, families, and youth have access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care.

☀️ During her doctoral training at Discovery Counseling Center, Kaeli provided counseling support to students and families across the San Ramon Valley through our Student Counseling Intervention Program (SCIP) in partnership with SRVUSD.

Experiences like this are how Discovery trains the next generation of compassionate mental health professionals while expanding access to care for our community.

For more than 50 years, Discovery Counseling Center has served as both a community mental health clinic and a training center for future clinicians.

💙💛 For more than 50 years, Discovery Counseling Center of the San Ramon Valley has been here for our community. Since 1971, we have provided compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups across Danville, San Ramon, Alamo, and the greater San Ramon Valley.

From counseling services in our clinic to free mental health support for SRVUSD students through the SCIP program, our mission has always been the same: helping people navigate life’s challenges with care, dignity, and understanding.

Right now, we are also working behind the scenes to refresh and strengthen our digital presence so more people in our community can learn about the counseling services, mental health resources, and support available locally.

We are proud of our history and grateful to continue this work for the community we serve.
