Our Mitzvah Doers Club was in full force last week, proving that many hands make light (and very meaningful) work!

Around 15 of our wonderful residents teamed up to form an expert assembly line, working together to prepare 40 bag lunches for the Tri-Valley Haven Food Pantry. From crafting the perfect sandwiches to packing juice, cookies, and fruit, every bag was filled with care.

At the Reutlinger, we believe there’s no greater joy than giving back. We truly enjoyed the afternoon of service, and we hope these meals brought a little extra brightness to our neighbors in need.

We found the missing piece to a perfect afternoon: Sunshine! ☀️🧩 Our residents took over the patio for some fresh air and serious puzzling. It’s safe to say we’re "fitting" right into this beautiful spring weather!

Yesterday, our very own Myron Fink graced us with a stunning piano performance. From the technical brilliance of Chopin to the dreaminess of Debussy, Myron proved that true talent only gets better with time. We are so lucky to have such incredible artistry in our community!

What a week! 🎭 Our community is still buzzing from our Annual Purim Shpiel. Earlier this week, our talented residents and staff took the stage to retell the story of Esther with humor, music, and a little creative flair. From the stunning costumes to the catchy songs, it was a wonderful reminder of the creativity and spirit that thrive here at The Reultinger.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s Shpiel one for the history books! 👑✨

Celebrating Professional Excellence in Assisted Living! 🏆 We are incredibly proud to announce that our Social Services Coordinator, Olga Leynov, has received a Certificate of Recognition from the California Assisted Living Association (CALA).

Olga was nominated for CALA’s prestigious Excellence in Service Award for her noteworthy contributions to the residents she serves and to the field of Assisted Living. This certificate honors her for "outstanding service to residents and contributions to the field of Assisted Living."

65 Years of Love! 🥂✨ Our hearts are full as we celebrated a truly incredible milestone: Ike and Betty’s 65th Wedding Anniversary! From the first dance to the cake cutting, seeing a love that has flourished for over six decades was an inspiration to everyone in our community. Ike and Betty, thank you for showing us all what "forever" really looks like. ❤️

We rang in the Year of the Horse with style! 🐎🧧 Our Lunar New Year celebration was filled with joy, luck, and a beautiful musical performance that moved us all. It was the perfect way to welcome a new season of prosperity and friendship.

Our roots run deep here at the Reutlinger! 🌱 We had a beautiful afternoon celebrating Tu BiShvat, the New Year for Trees, with a traditional Seder. It was a joy to see our residents come together to sample the symbolic fruits and celebrate the natural world.

A huge thank you to Cantor Schwartz for leading us through the songs and prayers with such warmth and inspiration. Mazel Tov to a season of growth and renewal! 🍇🍷

After 35 remarkable years at The Reutlinger, we recently had the honor of celebrating the retirement of our beloved Art Program Director, Betty Rothaus. 💛

Betty’s vision and dedication gave life to our award-winning art program "Discovering the Artist Within," a space where creativity flourishes, confidence grows, and residents of all experience levels feel inspired to explore self-expression. Through her expert guidance and encouragement, residents have discovered new skills and joy in drawing, painting (oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor), sculpture and pottery, collage, textiles, jewelry, and mixed media. Annual exhibitions have become cherished moments of celebration, allowing the entire community to share in these incredible accomplishments.

Thank you, Betty, for 35 years of passion, mentorship, and for creating a program that has left a truly lasting impact on our residents, our community, and the arts at The Reutlinger. We wish you a very happy and well-deserved retirement, with heartfelt gratitude from all of us at The Reutlinger and the entire Eskaton organization. 🎨✨

🕎✨ Our community recently gathered to celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, with a joyful and meaningful Hanukkah Party. Hanukkah affirms so many timeless values—the power of light in darkness, gratitude for miracles both large and small, staying true to oneself, and the courage to stand firm in one’s beliefs.

The word Hanukkah itself means “Dedication,” honoring the reconsecration of the Temple in Jerusalem by the Maccabees in ancient times. During this holy season, we wish for each of us an increase in inner light, a deeper appreciation for the miracles that surround us, and a renewed dedication to the values that matter most. 🕯️💙
