Feel Good Friday:

Earlier this week, we were honored to join the VA Realtors Association and our sister organization, the Danville Area Training Center, to celebrate one of our own.

Neal Morris received the Good Neighbor Award, recognizing his unwavering commitment to strengthening our community. Neal has long been a champion for the Danville Life Saving Crew and currently serves on the Danville Area Training Center Board.

As part of this award, a generous gift was made to the Danville Area Training Center, supporting hands-on education and training that directly impacts readiness and response in our region.

It was a packed house, full of gratitude and pride.
Please join us in congratulating Neal! 👏

Neighbors helping neighbors.

đź’š THANKFUL THURSDAY đź’š
Today, we’re hearing from Ricky Dix — former EMT and now a proud member of our Board of Directors.

Ricky has seen this Crew from both sides — from running calls to now supporting the people who do. And his message today is simple and sincere:
He is thankful.

Every call answered, every life saved, every moment of hope restored…
It happens because this community stands together.

Hear Ricky’s message below.

Proud Supporter Spotlight: Brian Wilson
Chief Operating Officer, Commonwealth Companies

When every second counts, the Danville Life Saving Crew is there — providing expert, emergency care when our neighbors need it most.

Brian Wilson has witnessed this firsthand, both personally and professionally. He sees the dedication, training, and heart our EMTs and paramedics bring to every call — often in the most critical and vulnerable moments.

For Brian, supporting the Crew isn’t just a donation.
It’s an investment in the health, safety, and wellbeing of our entire region.

“This is truly heroic work. I believe in the Crew — and I encourage our community to stand with them.”

This year, for our 80th anniversary, we’re working to put a new ambulance on the road, equipped and ready for the lifesaving work our crews do every day.
If you’d like to help, even a small gift makes a difference. The link to give in the comments!

Saving lives is our mission. Helping us do that is yours.

Today, we honor the men and women who have served our nation with courage and dedication.
We are especially proud to recognize the members of our own Danville Life Saving Crew family who have worn the uniform — continuing their service to others long after their military careers.

Their commitment to protecting and caring for others didn’t end when they came home. It lives on here — in every call dispatched, every neighbor helped, every life saved.

To all our veterans: thank you.
For your service, your sacrifice, and your continued presence in our community.
We are grateful beyond measure. 🇺🇸

THANKFUL THURSDAYS BEGIN TODAY
As we head into this season of gratitude, we’re taking time each week to pause and reflect on what we’re most thankful for here at the Danville Life Saving Crew.
For nearly 80 years, our community has stood beside this Crew — encouraging us, trusting us, and helping us stay ready when minutes matter.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll hear from members of our Board and leadership, as they share their own messages of thanks. We hope you’ll join us on Thursdays as we celebrate the people who make this mission possible — including you.

Kicking us off today is our Board Chair, Wade Collins.
His message is one of gratitude, pride in community, and hope for what we’re building together.
Thanks for being part of the story.
Thanks for being part of the Crew.

Today’s visit from the STEM Academy Health and Medical Sciences students reminded us why we do what we do!

Students toured the Crew Hall, explored the back of an ambulance, and got an up-close look at some of the life-saving tools our teams use every day — including the cardiac monitor and the LUCAS device. They even finished the day Stop the Bleed certified!

We’re proud to share what it means to answer the call — and even prouder to see the next generation of innovators and caregivers getting inspired to serve their community.

WHEW — what a few weeks it’s been!
Fall is always one of our busiest seasons — and this year is no exception! From our drone presentation at Moffett Memorial to National Night Out, the Career ChoICE Festival, Ducks on the Dan, and the American Heart Association Walk, the Danville Life Saving Crew has been everywhere!

And that’s not even counting our regular call volume (over 40 calls a day!) or the many standbys and special events our crews continue to cover.

We love every chance to connect with our community, show what we do, and share a little behind-the-scenes of what “neighbors helping neighbors” really looks like.

Check out some of the highlights below — and if you spotted us out and about, let us know where you saw the Crew!
