Hello, my name is Jacob. I’ve been in the madness for 22 years of my 34 years on this earth. I started doing drugs and drinking at a young age. I used to party heavy and nonstop. I used to think drinking after a hard day’s work was like a reward. I also drank to celebrate. I drank when I was sad, then by the end, I had to wake up and start drinking just to get my shaking to go away.

I was in a car accident with my father and we had been drinking that day and smoking ma*****na when I lost control of the truck. We rolled four times and I lost my dad in the process. That’s the day my drinking went from bad to worse. I used to drink two fifths a day on top of all the drugs I was doing. I was really trying to kill myself either by drinking myself to death or just overdosing to make my heart explode.

I got myself into a lil bit of trouble with the law and ended up in drug court where they sent me to All Together Recovery. At first I was a “fake it to make it” guy. I was court ordered and I didn’t care what they had to say or made me do. Then, one day I said to hell with it and gave it a chance.

The workers at ATR actually cared about me and helped me see what I was doing to myself by sharing their past and all the things they’ve done. They explained to me why I was doing what I was doing after I opened up and told them all the bad things that’s happened to me and the things I’ve done. People like Nick, Drake, Joey, Wisecarver, and Tosha really care for you and they get to know you like their family. I cannot thank ATR enough for helping me see what I was doing to myself and my loved ones with all my drug abuse and alcoholism.

Sincerely,
Jacob King

We are not powerless.
We never were.
Change your life focusing on your strengths with the Trait-Based Recovery Model at All Together Recovery.

They lied to us.
They told us we were powerless.

And yes, we were powerless over addiction. Yes, we were powerless over life’s circumstances.

But they forgot one thing, and that’s this - Attention.

When we turn our attention away from the noise of the world, away from our desires, our compulsions, our obsessions, and instead focus on what makes us human, our traits awaken.

They mobilize.
They grow.
They empower us.

We are not powerless.
We never were.

There’s a new way forward, one that begins not in powerlessness,
but in strength.

Start from Strength.

One of the many ways the men at ATR receive support is by connecting them with Wayspring for personalized support and essential resources. Their first connection happens while they are at ATR.

Wayspring helps the men with access to mobile phones, food, housing, employment, bikes to get to work, legal assistance, and much more on their recovery journey.
