Kruger Funeral Home & Crematory

Kruger Funeral Home & Crematory Kruger Funeral Home & Crematory, formerly Pape Family Funeral Home has been caring for the loved ones in Vermilion County since 1916.

As of present, long time employee Jennifer Kruger now owns and operates the funeral home. The Funeral Home was ran and operated by 5 generations of the Pape Family. In 2018, long time employee Jennifer Kruger purchased, and continued to run the funeral home. Even though no Pape's are involved with the funeral home today, we will continue the legacy of the funeral home, and continue to serve Danville and the surrounding communities for many years to come.

I often hear criticism about things not done "the right way" at a Celebration of Life, Visitation or a Funeral. But what some don't seem to understand, is that it is the families (or the deceased in many cases) decision.

It is not up to the funeral home to decide how to celebrate someone's life. It is not up to the funeral home if they are cremated, have a public funeral, or do a private, family-only burial. It is up to their pre-arranged choices or the next of kin.

What music is played, if there is a register book, who the minister is (if there is one)- all up to the family. There is no right and wrong. There is no template.

The choice is yours and yours alone. All the more reason to put your wishes in writing and do your pre-arrangements now. Make sure what you want is done. Now and when you are gone.
