Gary Lee Jasper, 75, of Garrard County, beloved father, brother, and grandfather passed away February 10, 2026 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Gary was born on June 29, 1950 in Pulaski County, KY to the late Raymond Henry Jasper and Bonnie Dunbar Jasper. Gary developed a deep love for agriculture early in his life. He spent his entire life farming. Mainly working with to***co, hay, and corn. Gary worked on the Middleton Farm for many years. Gary was a man of integrity, known to his neighbors to always lend a hand and share his farming wisdom. He loved spending time with his family, especially time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Gary was a lifelong University of Kentucky basketball fan.

Gary is survived by five children, Loretta Jasper Dunn, Rodney Jasper, Elaine Hopkins, Sue Byrd, and David Roberts; siblings, Janet Willems, Cecil Jasper, Donnie Jasper, David Jasper, Helen Tussey and Karen Lawless; four grandchildren, Kasey Jasper (Laney), Kylie Bruce (Seth), Peyton Dunn; one great grandchild, Makenna Bruce; and special friends, Keith Middleton, Kevin Middleton, and Johnny Johnson.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Roberts; five siblings, Floyd Jasper, Loretta Brooks, Wendell Jasper, Robert Jasper, and Joyce Brooks; and a granddaughter, Jessica Lunsford.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Harper officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Jo Ann Coontz Smith, 90, of Garrard County, passed away February 4, 2026 at Maplewood Health & Rehab. She was born on November 1, 1935 in Lincoln County, KY to the late Roscoe and Mildred Young Coontz.

Jo Ann was a devoted member of her community and spent many years working at the local apparel shop, where she served faithfully as both a sales clerk and manager. She took great pride in her work and was known for her kindness, dependability, and warm smile.

Her faith was central to her life. Jo Ann served as a Sunday school teacher at Lancaster Church of God for 20 years, where she touched countless lives through her dedication to the church

Above all, Jo Ann cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved. She was a devoted wife to her husband, John, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, and unwavering love for her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved.

Surviving is her loving husband of 68 years, John Smith of Lancaster; a son, John Smith III of Danville, KY; a daughter, Rachel Dickerson (James) of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Richard Smith Simpson, and Emily Adkins (Jonathan); and five great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by a brothers, Jackie, Johnny Mac, and Billy Coontz and a sister, Maize Long.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home. Family Visitation will be held from 11am- 12:00 and public visitation will be held from 12pm-2pm Wednesday. Burial will follow the funeral service at Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Dickerson, Keith Long, Wendell Long, Barry Howard, Will Begley, Jonathan Adkins, Dwight Coontz and Burt Watkins.

Collis Clark Ray, 94, of Lancaster, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at his home. He was born on August 24, 1931 in Garrard County to the late Robert Thomas Ray and Maude Clark Ray.

Collis was a faithful member of the Maple Avenue Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and then an elder for over 60 years. He led singing regularly, and mentored young men to become song leaders as well. Everyone who knew Collis knew how much the church meant to him. He loved his church family very much.

He worked for Hesco Parts as a sales rep for over 28 years and Transportation Director for Tru-Check Meter Services for over 13 years.

Collis loved watching UK basketball, restoring classic cars, and encouraged everyone he knew to buy Fords. He hated lima beans (but would eat 7 at a time to be a good example for his grandchildren). He had the best sense of humor.

Collis is survived by his daughter, Marian (Joe) Statom; three grandchildren, Justin Statom, Brian (Kristin) Ray, and Megan Whitmer; a brother, Donnie (Gwinette) Ray; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia Spalding, Lauren and Ella Whitmer, and Eliza Jane, Lucie, and Samson Ray.

Collis was preceded in death by his first wife of 62 years, Vera Banks Ray, and his second wife, Faye Sweeney Ray; a daughter, Patsy Ray; granddaughter, Tonya Spalding; two brothers, Billy Ray and James Thomas Ray; and three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hullett, Bobbie Chadwell, and Rose Holtzclaw.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Maple Avenue Church of Christ with Pastor Isaac Hall officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time at the church.

Glenn Frazier Crumley Jr., 79, of Liberty, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born in November 13, 1946 in Pikeville Kentucky to the late Glenn Frazier Crumley, Sr. and Imogene Hackeny Crumley. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Gibson Crumley of Liberty, Kentucky.

Glenn (Petey) graduated from Elkhorn City High School in 1965. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. After his time in the Air Force he worked for the United Steel Workers. He enjoyed sharing stories of his military and work experiences. Glenn’s hobbies included playing Rook, tennis, bowling (especially on the Wii where he could out strike anyone), shooting guns, and reading his Bible. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and hosting family cook-outs. Petey was a devoted Christian and served the Lord through preaching and singing his favorite gospels. To know him was to know that he was proud to be “The World’s Best Grandad” to his grandchildren. If you saw him you were sure to see all the different types of hats he would wear.

Surviving are sons, Glenn “Frazier” Crumley III (Crystal) of Perryville, Matthew Gibson of Louisville; daughters, Lisa Adkins (Chris) of Liberty, Kentucky and Priscilla Gibson of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tilden-Austin Frazier Crumley (Megan), Wesley Dalton Crumley, Savannah Lynn Adkins (Jacob), Briannah Leigh Deel (Blake), Emily Grace Gillock (Brigham), Gabriella Raine Gibson, Mason Chaney, Chevy Meade, and Penelope Meade.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Randy and John Crumley and a sister, Glenda Faye Crumley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 4pm-6pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gillock, Blake Deel, Jacob Eldridge, Brigham Floyd, Tilden-Austin Crumley, and Wesley Crumley.

Theresa Lynn Lednik, 70, of Garrard County, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Maplewood Health & Rehab in Lancaster. She was born March 22, 1955 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Paul and Shirley Woods Grosser.

Theresa will be remembered for her good sense of humor, her generous heart, and her love of knitting. She made enough hats to clothe a small village. She was a determined knitter and was always happy to give away an item to anyone who could use it.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made by donating to a good cause in Theresa’s honor, continuing her legacy of giving.

Surviving is a son, Raymond Sparks (Taylor) of Garrard County, Kentucky; a daughter, Danielle Follick of Richmond, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Gabe, Lilly, Eli, Jude, Tuck, and Amelia; sisters, Sherri Lewis, Paula Begley and a brother, Jimmy Grosser.

Theresa was preceded in death by her partner, Rodger Sparks, parents, a sister, Rita Thomas and a brother, Dennis Grosser.

Patricia Ann (Todd) Conklin, born on November 18, 1941, in Greeley, Colorado to parents Charles F. and Evelyn Todd, passed away on January 26, 2026 in Hospice Care. She was preceded in death by brothers Chuck Todd (Denver) and Mick Todd (Santa Fe, New Mexico) and by special niece, Shanna Falzgraf (Lakewood, Colorado.)

She is survived by daughter Tammy (Tom) Stevens, Lexington, Kentucky and son Ken (Lynn) Conklin, Danville, Kentucky, sisters Sherri (Dave) Daniels, Lakewood, and Jackie Falzgraf (KC) Falzgraf, also Lakewood, Colorado. She had two grandsons, Christopher (Aubriana) Conklin, Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Daniel Conklin (Cortney), Danville, Kentucky, and great granddaughters, Kenlee Conklin and Lavana Conkin, both of Danville. She had numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She grew up around the Denver area. She enjoyed helping people and worked herself through Nursing School, earning her Nursing License in 1984. She worked mostly in nursing Homes, specializing in helping the elderly in both Colorado and Kentucky. She moved to Kentucky to be close to her children and grandchildren. She lived in Lancaster, Kentucky for many years and then moved to Danville, Kentucky a few years ago.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Lancaster, with Visitation beginning at 12:30pm.

Anna Wilma Brogle Arnold of Somerset, Kentucky peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at the Hospice Of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Anna Wilma was born on March 16, 1933 in Garrard County Kentucky to the late Isaiah Joseph Brogle and Mattie Thomas Edgington Brogle. She was the 4th of 10 children and loved her parents and siblings dearly.

Anna Wilma married Samuel Drennan Arnold on her 19th birthday, March 16, 1952 and they were married 62 years. Together they had 7 children, 26 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren (1 more expected in May), 16 great-great grandchildren (5 more expected between March-July).

Anna Wilma accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at the age of 10 and devoted her life to Him in all she did. She was a faithful pastor’s wife, and a devoted mother, exemplifying the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church in Somerset, KY and loved her pastor and fellow church members.

Anna Wilma was a wonderful seamstress who made many of her children’s clothing. For the past 30+ years, she also did alterations for others until just a few weeks ago.

She loved to quilt in the winter and all her children/grandchildren have at least one of her quilts. She also loved to sing and play the piano and organ. Her children have wonderful memories of her playing and singing at home and church. She was FULL OF JOY AND LAUGHTER; a delight to all who encountered her. She loved talking about the Lord and counseled many with His wisdom. And believe me, you could not out-give her! No matter what little she had, she always had something to give! She lived by the scripture, “It is better to give than to receive.”

Even though she told her children and grandchildren she had no favorites, she somehow made each one feel like they were her favorite.

Anna Wilma was preceded in death by her loving parents, her husband, three sisters (Roberta East, Doris Ayres and Dixie Sebastian), a son-in-law (Winfred Allen Slayter), a daughter-in-law (Pamela Slayter Arnold), a grandson (Jeremiah Litton), and a great grandson (Malachi Joel Leffler).

Left behind to mourn her passing are her brothers and sisters, WC Brogle (Houstonville, KY), Barbara Montgomery, Joe (and Barbara) Brogle, Paul Brogle, Carolyn (and Don) Hawkins, Patricia (and Lester) Reeves, (all of Garrard Co, KY); her children Pamela Ann Arnold (Somerset, KY) Donna Jean Murrell (Louisiana), Timothy Drennan Arnold (Louisiana), Stephen Brogle (and Suzan) Arnold (South Carolina), Joel Samuel (and Kathryn) Arnold (Louisiana), Ramona Jill (and Nathaniel) Napier (Somerset, KY), Sarah Faye (and Garnet) Roberts (Nancy, KY), her grandchildren, Rachel Bryant, Amy Hale, Justin Litton, Nicole Owens, Micah Murrell, Jason Arnold Jonathan Murrell, Natalie Davenport, Charity Litton, Melanie Ellis, Heather Mullins, Matthew Murrell, Joshua Arnold, April Star Whittle, Nathan Arnold, Derik Richey, Zachary Arnold, Korey Napier, Bradley Roberts, Kelsey Smart, Erika Leffler, Kaitlin Welsh, Kandyce David, Maddy Mullins, Jared Arnold and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Lancaster, KY on Tuesday, February 3rd from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm. Funeral service will also be at Mt Hebron Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with burial following in the Mt. Hebron Church Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Aaron Meece of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and Pastor Logan Hargis of Langdon Street Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Micah Murrell, Jonathan Murrell, Matthew Murrell, Nathan Arnold, Zachary Arnold, Jared Arnold, Bradley Roberts, and Nate Whittle.

Ida Mae (Shepherd) Day, 99, was born on October 31, 1926, in Seco, Kentucky, to the late Wilson Shepherd and Mary (Lewis) Shepherd. She was a longtime resident of Lancaster, Kentucky. Ida Mae passed away on January 22, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Ida Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Day; her daughter, Patty Day; and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Day, her son-in-law AJ Johnica. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Otis Shepherd, Joe Shepherd, Bessie Day, Jimmy Shepherd, Lorraine Miller, and Minerva Hicks.

She is survived by her brother Clayton (Kim) Shepherd of Crab Orchard. She is survived by her loving children: Clinton Day of Lancaster; Helen (Gary) Tillery of Richmond; June (Les) Rector of Lancaster; and David (Danielle) Day of Lancaster. Ida Mae is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris and Lee Cornelius, Michelle Johnson, Scotty Johnica, Michael Stinnett, Zach Day, Candace Hancock, and Hannah Day, as well as nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Known affectionately as “Mamaw” to many, Ida Mae took the greatest pride in being a mother and grandmother. She worked many years as a seamstress at the Safeguard company in Lancaster, Ky. She was a devoted member of Maple Avenue Church of Christ and had an unshakable faith in the Lord, living her life as a true example of Christ-like love.

Her home was a place of warmth, love, and always good food. Feeding people brought her immense joy, and it was not uncommon to find her singing gospel hymns while cooking at the stove. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, and lifting her voice in song.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Chris Cornelius, Lee Cornelius, Scotty Johnica, Michael Stinnett, Zach Day, and Daniel Correll. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren.

The world is a better place because Mamaw was in it. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her—and to know her was truly to love her.
