📱Doom scrolling isn’t laziness. It’s often dysregulation.

You open your phone for “just a minute”…
And suddenly 45 minutes have passed.

Sometimes scrolling is your nervous system trying to stay informed, feel in control, or avoid what feels heavy.

But more input isn’t always what you need.

✨ Doom Scrolling Reset:
• Put your phone down.
• Take 3 slow breaths.
• Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders.
• Ask: “What do I actually need right now?”

Sometimes the answer is rest 🧘‍♀️
Sometimes it’s connection 🤝
Sometimes it’s putting the phone down and stepping outside🌳

Awareness is progress 🤍

💭Have you been thinking about starting therapy, but not quite sure what to expect? If you’ve been wondering what sessions actually look like, this is for you.

✨ Intake Session (First Visit)
This is your “getting to know you” session.
We talk about what’s bringing you in, your background, and what you’re hoping for from therapy.
We also go over paperwork that you fill out before your first appointment.

During this first appointment, there is no pressure to share everything at once.

✨ Regular Therapy Sessions
This is where the deeper work happens.
We explore thoughts, emotions, patterns, and practice tools that support growth and healing - at your pace.
We set goals based on what feels right for you and revisit them as you grow.

🧩 Think of it this way:
Intake: “Here’s my story.”
Ongoing sessions: “Let’s work through it together.”

You don’t need the right words - just a willingness to show up. 🤍

If you’re ready to take the next step and schedule an appointment, or if you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you. You’re welcome to reach out by text, phone call, or email. Whatever feels right for you.

✨ End of the Week Check-In ✨

Before the week slips by, take a few quiet moments to pause and check in with yourself 💭

What are you proud of? What felt heavy? What went well—and what did you learn along the way?

This isn’t about judging your week. It’s about noticing, honoring, and offering yourself compassion ❤️‍🩹

Growth doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.

Save this as a gentle end-of-week reset and come back to it when you’re ready ✨

🧧Happy Chinese New Year! 🎉

🔥Today starts the year of the fire horse. We just shed the last of the year of the snake and, quite frankly, I’m glad it’s over. It’s also a solar eclipse 🌑 and a new moon today! If things are feeling a little chaotic, this would be why. 🌙

✨With all of this comes intense energy, passion, and rapid change. Now is our time, people! Time to let go of what no longer serves us and move into the best version of ourselves. We’ve been preparing for this for a long time. 🙌🏻😊

💕What are you letting go of this year, and what is a change you’re making? Comment below!

✨Enjoy the transformation, friends. 💫

Support local! Reduce the stigma 🌷💪

Thank you so much, Theresa, for collaborating! Your chapsticks are my favorite!

At Blossom & Herb Apothecary, I believe in the power of nature to nurture your skin. I am a creative soul who crafts all-natural skincare products by hand, blending the finest botanicals and herbs. It’s something I’m very passionate about. Each product is carefully formulated and made in small batches to ensure maximum freshness and efficacy. I utilize only the purest herbs, floral extracts, and natural components, free from synthetic chemicals and harsh additives. My approach focuses on holistic well-being, offering products designed to harmonize with your body and the environment. I aim to bring the healing essence of nature directly to your daily routine, providing effective and gentle care you can trust.

How do you take care of your mental health while juggling so many work responsibilities?

I have to be very intentional about taking time for myself. This doesn’t mean loading up my free time with a mess of activities, either. Most times, my form of therapy is sitting outside, in the garden, with the sun on my face, just existing. At times I’ll take a sketch pad or my watercolors out with me as well, but the goal is to just slow time down a bit and relax. It’s such a simple activity, but nothing brings me back to center more than just existing peacefully, in nature.

I am an avid plant lover and a creative by heart, so gardening, crafting, and creating new things really appeals to me. I’m very lucky that my business incorporates some of the things I love most. I can wax poetic about beneficial plant properties and how to make products from them (much to the chagrin of my poor husband and friends) and I har been known to introduce new people to all of my houseplants when they come over. There is just something about harvesting herbs and flowers you grew yourself, and then drying them to use in products later that is just so rewarding to me. It's this passion that keeps me balanced….Plus who doesn’t love buying more plants?!

What is one piece of advice or encouragement you would give someone who is struggling with their mental health?

I actually have two pieces of advice, but they go hand in hand. There was a time in my life where I really struggled with my mental health and felt like I was absolutely drowning. I used to be a serial people pleaser and I was very bad about sacrificing myself for the sake of others. I became burnt out very quickly and, at the time, I felt so alone in my struggle.

To combat that, I learned these two pieces of advice that were instrumental in gaining back my peace. First, “no is a complete sentence.” It doesn’t require a justification and it doesn’t make you a mean person to say it. It simply means that whatever is being asked of you, is not a yes. You don’t need to explain yourself or justify it so someone else will be okay with it. If it’s not a yes, it’s a no, and that’s all you have to say.

Second, everyone else gets the overflow. You show up for yourself first, (in whatever capacity you are able) and whatever is left over, that is what others get of you. Don’t sacrifice all of the best of you to other people and leave nothing left for yourself. It’s not selfish, it’s self-preservation. The difference you will make when you start showing up for yourself first, instead of working yourself beyond the point of exhaustion, is so impactful.
