A little about Josh…
I am an Associate Licensed Counselor and National Certified Counselor, offering in-person and telehealth counseling for individuals and couples. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relational distress, burnout, identity questions, and spiritual or religious struggles.
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University and my Bachelor of Science in Theology from the University of Mobile. I am under the supervision of Melinda Rader, LPC-S.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent several years in pastoral ministry, walking closely with individuals and couples through seasons of deep pain and transformation. That experience continues to shape the way I hold space in therapy; with presence, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s story. I have extensive experience working with trauma, PTSD, marital distress (including infidelity), religious trauma, and faith-related struggles. These areas are not just professional specialties, they’re places I feel deeply called to serve.
My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. I’m trained in Level One Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have completed PESI’s Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy Competency Course.
I enjoy working with clients who want to explore not just symptoms, but the stories and beliefs that live beneath them, helping them reconnect with themselves and move toward healing.
Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, and being with my wife and kids. I love good food, State Parks, and finding the best local coffee shops and BBQ.
