⚫️ Natural vs. Logical Consequences
⏳ Every choice comes with a consequence. Helping your teen see the lessons life gives naturally, and the lessons you guide intentionally, supports growth and responsibility.
🌱 Natural Consequences: happens on its own (i.e. forgets their homework, bad grade or forgets to do laundry, no clean clothes).
Letting your teen experience these consequences helps them learn responsibility naturally.
🤔 Logical Consequences: parent created, but connected and intentional.
Example: "Because your grade is low, you’ll set aside time each day this week to complete missing assignments and review class material."
Below is a list of 3 R's that can be used to help implement logical consequences.
Navigating consequences at home can be complicated — this post is meant as a simple guide to help throughout the week. Reach out and schedule an appointment, we can work through these strategies together.
