Sometimes people ask what’s the point in doing what we do in unbeatable diseases. DIPG is a brain cancer in children that has a 100% mortality rate that no one has ever survived. Why do we take on these cases against impossible odds? This note says it all. With our plan, this 8yo boy was able to go through brain surgery, radiation, and live a completely normal life. He was able to travel across the US with his family, spend additional time with his siblings, all while living life as a normal kid up until 1 week before he died. Cancer sucks, but there are ways we can make it suck less, and as hard as this job is, patients like Jude and his memory keep us going so we can help more families in need.

Pancreatic cancer has quite a negative reputation conventionally, despite there being much evidence for natural support - we’ve got complementary plans to help treatments go more smoothly. Did you also know there are cheap and easy screening tests available for this cancer? Screening is critical and can make the difference between finding this cancer early (with a higher survival rate), and finding this cancer late (with a worse mortality rate). We help all of our patients with recurrent monitoring to screen for this and a dozen other cancers, as early detection is key. 🎗 💔 💜

It is awesome being a naturopathic doctor.
I injured my toe badly and developed an under the nail bruise (Subungual hematoma) that built up blood and began to cause severe pain which would have required a trip to urgent care. Unfortunately I’m not the biggest fan of the conventional system, but luckily naturopathic physicians are well trained in minor surgery and wound care, and a digital nerve block and nail trephination take 5 minutes and I was able to get out of pain long enough to sleep. I’m making this post as a reminder and wake up call to the world who doesn’t know, NDs are highly medically trained, and minor surgery office procedures and wound care are part of that training. (Though I don’t do it in our Nourish Healthcare practice, This is an area I’m passionate about. When I graduated med school, I taught a suturing and wound care course for 2 years while building our practice, and recently had the opportunity to testify to the Wyoming Senate as an expert witness on ND’s training and skills in minor surgery)
