Some religions teach you to find your inner peace - through meditation or in some other way. The Bible says peace does not come from within us or from the world. A few hours before His crucifixion, Jesus spoke the following words to His disciples: “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27).

True peace, lasting peace, the kind of peace that transcends the worries of the world, comes from knowing Jesus and trusting in His promises. Jesus' disciples needed His peace. They were troubled at that moment. When your heart is troubled, Jesus wants to give you His peace.

When the world seems anything but peaceful, rest in the peace you have from knowing Jesus. When anxieties come, tell Jesus you need to be reminded of His peace. When you wonder why, talk to Jesus and you will be comforted by His presence..

God Is Mindful of Us

“What is mankind that You are mindful of us, human beings that You care for us?” (Psalm 8:4)

In a world that often feels huge and overwhelming, some may wonder if we truly matter. God wants you to know that He is mindful of you. God knows you. He knows your thoughts, your struggles, and your needs. Jesus confirmed it when He said that even the hairs of our head are numbered (Luke 12:7). That means nothing about your life is too small or insignificant for God’s attention. Your prayers are heard. Your struggles are seen. Your faithfulness, even in quiet moments when no one else is looking, matters deeply to Him. Today, take comfort in this: You are known, loved, and cared for by God who is always mindful of you.

Knock on wood
If you spill salt, you need to throw some over your shoulder for good luck
To avoid bad luck, don't walk under a ladder
Breaking a mirror means seven years of bad luck
Believing that the person who wrote your daily horoscope knows more about your life than anyone else

1 Timothy 4:7 says, "Have nothing to do with silly myths, rather train yourself in godliness."

The direction of our life is not determined by myths, superstitions, or luck. Your steps are established by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). We trust in the Lord, not luck. Stay close to the Lord, and you won't have to hope for good luck. He will take care of you.

A boy accepted Christ during Sunday School. He was excited and told his parents that he wanted to tell the pastor. His parents asked him if he wanted to be baptized, and he told them yes. They told him to tell the pastor at the end of worship that he was saved and wanted to be baptized.
His parents took their son to worship and after the sermon, the parents and their son walked down to the pastor during the closing song. After the song was over, the pastor told everyone in church that the boy had a big announcement. The boy excitedly told the entire church, “I got saved and I want to be advertised!”
He may have been confused about terminology, but his words are a lesson to us. There are many ways you can advertise Jesus to other people. Jesus wants His followers to tell other people about Him. Is your life an advertisement for Jesus?

God rewards those who seek Him, not those who seek religion. Many go through the motions of religion, but rewards go to those who seek the heart of Jesus. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him.” God wants us to be more like Jesus. God rewards those who understand the heart of Jesus and live to become more like Him.

"By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going." (Hebrews 11:8 CSB)

It took great faith for Abraham (then known as Abram) to pack all his possessions and move his family, especially since he did not know where God was leading him. "The Lord had said to Abram, 'Leave your country and your people. Leave your father's family. Go to the land I will show you.'" (Genesis 12:1)

If you have ever moved, you know that moving is hard work. It is also stressful. You have to get used to a new house, and maybe an entirely new community. But what if you were told by the head of your family that they had no idea where they were going when you were moving? The Bible tells us that is exactly what happened to a man named Abraham. Yet Abraham trusted God with the unknowns and the uncertainties of his life. Several times in the Bible we are told that Abraham believed God. He faced many more uncertain circumstances in his life, but he trusted in the Lord.

We often face uncertainties. There are unknowns that arise in our lives. When facing those stressful moments, let's choose to believe in God. Choose to believe in God's promise to meet your needs. Choose to believe in God's goodness to provide what is best for you. Choose to be faithful to follow God knowing, like Abraham, that God works in advance for our good.
