Lafayette County Emergency Medical Services

Lafayette County Emergency Medical Services LCEMS is a local, county owned, community oriented ambulance service providing prehospital care. And thus we enter into the field of EMS.

Every day, thousands of individuals experience what constitutes a medical emergency: an incident that will, if the individual does not seek immediate treatment, result in serious injury and/or death. Heart attacks, drownings, car accidents, falls, allergic reactions, shootings, and diabetic crises are among the various situations that fall into the emergent category. In such cases, it's pivotal that the patient receive medical care as soon as possible. Emergency Medical Services, more commonly known as EMS, involves all personnel directly involved with public emergencies. Fire personnel, police officers, EMTs, ER nurses/doctors, and even trained bystanders are part of this broad service. Each sector plays a large role in responding to emergencies, activating the appropriate resources, and resolving whatever the issue may be. As a whole, EMS is an action-packed field, full of uncertainties and constantly changing scenarios. Law officers gets to see the best and worst of people as they attempt to enforce policies. Fire personnel feel the heat as they rush into burning buildings to extinguish engulfing flames. EMTs treat the ill and injured, always ready to assess, treat, and heal those most in need. Together, these public safety workers help to save the lives of people throughout the world. Would you like the opportunity to become part of this elite team and make a big difference, perhaps even saving someone's life? Lafayette County EMS is always accepting applications for highly motivated individuals that would like to explore the medical field. If interested in joining, please visit our website for application materials - https://www.lafayettecountywi.org/emslc
For those not necessarily having the means to become a member of Lafayette County EMS, you can still play a big role in the EMS system. Visit our page frequently for quick tips on how to save a life - your initial response to a medical emergency is, in many cases, just as critical as the definitive treatment provided by healthcare professionals.

It’s been on my heart to do some kind of drive we’ve never done before this month. I was having a hard time thinking of something but reached out to a friend for some ideas and she definitely helped. After talking to a few folks about who can accept them we are excited to do a stuffed animal drive for the month of December. They do need to be NEW and small to medium size so that they fit in the vehicles storage spaces. We will be accepting stuffies all month and delivering them in the beginning of the new year!

Last month we were able to collect 90 items for the food pantry. Do you guys think we can collect 100 stuffies this month?

Off the Trail will be giving out special add ons or discounts when you bring in a stuffy donation! Thank you!

🚑❄️ Help EMS Help You During Winter Storms! ❄️🚑
When the snow starts falling, our EMS crews work extra hard to reach those who need us—but we can’t do it alone. Here are a few simple ways you can help keep everyone safe:
🌨 Clear your address numbers!
Make sure your house number is visible from the road so crews can find you quickly—day or night.
🚘 Keep driveways & walkways shoveled.
A cleared path helps EMS get stretchers and equipment to your door safely and without delays.
🛣 Give emergency vehicles plenty of space!
If you see lights or hear sirens, please pull to the right and stop. Snow reduces traction and visibility, so extra room really matters.
📱 Have someone watch for responders.
If you’ve called 911, have someone ready to meet crews outside if possible. It speeds up care and helps guide us to the right location.
🧤 Secure pets and turn on outdoor lights.
Both help responders move safely and quickly in slippery conditions.
Your support makes a huge difference during winter weather. Stay safe, stay warm, and thank you for helping us help you! ❄️❤️🚑
