It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Coe and Broadnax families announce the passing of a Darlington Legend, Mr. Sammy Lee Broadnax. “Frog” as he was affectionately called was missing and found on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in Darlington County.

Please continue to pray for relatives and friends who are all shocked and devastated by this tragedy.

Michael Brown was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, family member and friend. A man that had a love for softball and the San Francisco 49ers and farming. Michael never met a stranger and was considered. It’s considered to be a great friend. He will be missed. Continue to pray for his family, and all those who have been impacted by his transition.

The Boseman, Shannon and Williams families remembered the life of their loved one, Mr. Willard “JJ” Shannon, Jr.
JJ was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. One that has been taken too soon. He was a jack of all trades and throughly enjoyed helping and fixing things. He will be missed among his immediate family, church family, and Coca-Cola family.
