Foundation Friday!
Thank you to the Lafayette Hospital + Clinics Foundation for purchasing The Hana Orthopedic Surgery Table. This specific equipment is designed to support orthopedic surgeries—especially total hip replacements and hip arthroscopy—by helping surgeons position patients for a direct anterior approach. It allows for smaller, less invasive incisions (8–10 cm), which means less tissue damage, faster recovery, less pain after surgery, and a lower risk of dislocation. Key benefits include stable patient positioning, real-time imaging support, and quicker overall recovery.

When someone truly special decides it’s time to step down, you can’t help but pause and reflect on the impact they’ve made.

Candi Fitzsimons has decided to retire from her role as President of the Mental Health Matters Committee. We would like to thank her for the many years of dedication, leadership, and heart poured into this community. Lafayette Hospital + Clinics (LHC) is pleased to announce that Garrett Mortensen, MD, has officially joined the LHC team as a full-time general surgeon. He brings a strong clinical background along with a special interest in alternative medicine, particularly nutrition and metabolic health.
Dr. Mortensen and his wife, Lauren, have made their home outside of Platteville.

Club Scrub has returned!
Seventh and eighth grade students who are interested in learning about health care careers are encouraged to participate. Students can sign up by reaching out to their Guidance Counselor. Local schools will attend sessions every Tuesday in March. We look forward to welcoming our students to Club Scrub!
