UMD Counseling & Student Development Center We provide a range of services to help students develop improved coping skills to address emotional, interpersonal and academic concerns.

The Counseling Center provides individual, couples and group counseling, and psychiatric services. The Counseling Center offers primarily short-term counseling, and will help students initiate referrals to community-based services when students need specialized or longer term services. Counseling services are provided by licensed psychologists, licensed mental health counselors, and advanced unlicensed doctoral or master's-level trainees under the close supervision of our licensed staff. Services include:

General information

The Counseling Center is located in the Auditorium Annex between the main auditorium and the Liberal Arts building, and directly above the Admissions office. There is a $25 fee for missed or cancelled appointments with the psychiatrist that are not cancelled by noon the day before the appointment Late cancellations and "no shows" for individual or couples counseling sessions will result in a charge of $5.
