Celebrating Excellence: Unveiling the Star Director of Nursing Awards 2024
Plymouth, MA – The evening of July 27, 2024, marked a significant celebration of nursing excellence at the “Unveiling the Star: Director of Nursing Awards” gala, held at the elegant Henri-Marie venue at Mirbeau Inn & Spa. Hosted by ACO Health Solutions, this inaugural event honored the exceptional achievements and dedication of directors of nursing across our community.
The night began with a glamorous red carpet arrival at 7:00 PM, where nominees and guests were greeted with the soothing sounds of violinist Josefina Guzman, who set the tone for the evening. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Josefina’s performance was a beautiful representation of our diverse community, reflecting the backgrounds of Dr. Restituyo, a Dominican, and Jo Colon, a Puerto Rican.
The festivities continued with a cocktail hour, followed by a warm welcome from the Master of Ceremonies, Jason M. Plante, who entertained the audience with multiple stylish outfit changes throughout the night. Jason’s engaging presence was complemented by keynote speaker Ana Louisa Poucochinho, MHA, BSN, RN, The Director of Clinical Operations Primary Care at Southcoast Physician Group, who delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of leadership and compassion in nursing.
Comedian Mike Harrison brought laughter and joy to the evening, ensuring the event was not only a celebration but also a night filled with entertainment and fun. His performance was a highlight, leaving the audience in high spirits.
The pinnacle of the evening was the award ceremony, where the following outstanding individuals were honored:
• Champion of Excellence: Lorene Perry from The Terraces Orleans
• Outstanding Leader: Doreen Vertentes from Our Lady’s Haven, with an impressive 47,636 votes (30.89%)
• Remarkable Achiever: Lauren Pimentel from Hathaway Manor, with 30,034 votes (19.48%)
These winners were celebrated for their exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact on their respective facilities. Each winner received a prestigious award, specially crafted for this event, along with an all-expenses-paid trip to Aruba.
The evening concluded with heartfelt thank-yous and a promise of more such celebrations in the future. Dr. Irving R. Restituyo, the the owenee gave a spwxiak
thanka to his wife, who organized the event. Also, Dr. Restituyo mentioned "We look forward to continuing this tradition and honoring the incredible contributions of our nursing leaders.”
