🗣️ Jaw pain? TMJ tension? Head feels “stuck”?
Let’s talk about TMJ & gentle cranial adjusting 👇
At Active Health Chiropractic, we occasionally use jaw (TMJ) and cranial adjustments as part of a full treatment plan for patients dealing with things like:
Clicking, tightness, or pain in the jaw
Jaw fatigue with chewing or talking
Headaches or facial tension
Neck and upper back stiffness that seems connected to the jaw
💡 What we actually do (based on current evidence):
Rather than “cracking the skull,” we focus on very gentle, specific joint and soft-tissue work around the TMJ, neck, and upper back. Research on TMJ pain supports a combination of:
Manual therapy to the jaw, neck, and surrounding muscles
Exercise/rehab to improve control and posture
Education on habits (clenching, grinding, posture, mouth breathing, etc.)
We may use TMJ and cranial adjustments when:
✅ Your exam shows joint restriction or imbalance around the jaw or skull
✅ Muscle tension and posture are contributing to your jaw discomfort
✅ You’re already working with your dentist/MD and need a conservative, hands-on approach to support healing
🔥 Our goal:
Not to “fix everything with one pop,” but to reduce pain, improve motion, calm overactive muscles, and support better function as part of a coordinated, evidence-informed care plan.
If your jaw has been sore, tight, or noisy for a while, it’s worth getting it checked.
