📺Each month at Family Resources, our advocates help create awareness about our services, talk about important topics that impact our community, and provide educational information by being guests on our local TV news programs.

🧡This week and last, Family Resources was featured on KWQC-TV6, WQAD News 8, and WHBF Channel 4 for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Our advocates spoke about what dating abuse is, what services we offer, and the community projects we are involved with this month.

✅Our CEO, Nicole Cisne Durbin, was also featured on WQAD News 8 late last week to talk about how parents can talk to their children and families about stress from current events/the news cycle.

🍊🎗🧡Orange Tuesday and Wear Orange Day! 🍊🎗🧡

Trinity Collage of Nursing and Health Sciences and Augustana College - Illinois students took pledges this week to support teens who are or may be facing dating violence. 1 in 3 U.S. teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they're in a relationship with before becoming adults.

Wearing orange during the month of February shows teens that there are people in the community who will believe and support them. It helps raise awareness about this important topic while promoting education about what is and is not a healthy relationship.

❤🎗February 8–14 is Love Is Respect Week. This week, we’re reminding youth that healthy relationships are about more than words, emojis, or “good vibes.” Real love shows up with trust, honesty, and respect.🎗❤

Respect isn’t a bonus — it’s a requirement. It means honoring boundaries, feelings, and choices without pressure or control.

This year’s message is simple: Respect is non-negotiable. Because real love should never make you question your worth.
