Families in the Quad Cities are experiencing loads of uncertainty going into this holiday season and we all know uncertainty is painful--more so when it affects food and paycheck security.

We'd like to support those in our community and over the next month, we'll be matching any donation made to the Foster Cares Fund with a donation to Riverbend Food Bank in Davenport and NEST Cafe in Rock Island.

Preventing death by su***de is a year-round effort but especially during this month, it's great to see information being shared and stigma continuing to break down. Su***de prevention is all of our responsibility and QPR is a great way to equip yourself with the tools to respond effectively to someone in need. Responding when someone voices suicidal concerns or reaches out for help is a challenge and if we don't know what to say, we may opt to say nothing. This training will equip you with the skills to respond empathetically, effectively, and to connect a struggling person with the resources they need to reconnect with hope and keep living.

Tuesday, August 5th from 6-7:30 PM, Licensed Social Worker and Certified QPR Trainer Lindsay Hohertz will teach you the skills to question, persuade, and refer an individual expressing suicidal ideation with lifesaving supports.
