What Happens After Baby Arrives? Let’s Talk Postpartum.

Bringing a baby into the world is life-changing, and so is the recovery that follows! Many women experience a range of normal postpartum symptoms as their bodies begin to heal, including:
🤎Contractions during breastfeeding (as the uterus shrinks)
🤎Night sweats
🤎Mood swings and hormonal shifts
🤎Light vaginal bleeding
🤎Water retention or swelling
🤎Menopausal-like symptoms (like hot flashes or vaginal dryness)

It’s a lot physically, emotionally, and mentally. That’s why taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for your newborn!
💗 Try this: Carve out a 15-minute daily self-care ritual, whether it’s a hot shower, a short walk, journaling, or just sitting in quiet.
🛌 And yes… nap hard and nap often. Your body and mind need rest to recover and recharge.

You’ve done something incredible. Now let’s support your healing with grace and patience. If you have questions or concerns about your post-partum journey, we’re here for you!

Ultrasounds are a regular, and very welcome, part of prenatal care!

FIRST TRIMESTER ULTRASOUND
In the first trimester of pregnancy, an early ultrasound is a routine part of prenatal care at 6 to 9 weeks, allowing parents a welcome FIRST glance at baby. The first-trimester ultrasound also…
💜confirms your estimated due date more accurately by measuring the fetus
💜confirms the fetal heartbeat
💜confirms the pregnancy is taking place where it is supposed to, in the uterus (and to rule out a tubal or ectopic pregnancy)
💜determines the number of fetuses

SECOND TRIMESTER ULTRASOUND
Midway through your pregnancy, usually between week 18 or week 22, a detailed anatomy scan (level 2 ultrasound) is performed. The second-trimester ultrasound provides an opportunity to…
💜see how baby is developing by measuring the size of your baby, checking all major organs, and measuring the level of amniotic fluid
💜tell you your baby’s s*x, if you want to know
💜give you a sneak peek at your baby!

What to Know About C-Section Recovery:
A C-section (cesarean section) is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through an incision in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. While recovery takes time, gentle movement in the days following surgery can support healing and improve how you feel.

Here are a few light exercises to help you get started:

➕ Deep Breathing:
Take 2–3 slow, deep breaths every 30 minutes. This helps prevent lung congestion and promotes relaxation, especially when you're spending more time resting in bed.
➕ Shoulder Rolls:
Sit upright and gently roll your shoulders forward and backward (about 20 times each hour). This can ease stiffness and encourage better posture.
➕ Gentle Walking:
Walking is one of the best ways to support recovery after a C-section. Begin with short, frequent walks as you're able. Over time, you'll notice movement becomes easier and discomfort begins to lessen.

Your body has done something incredible and now it’s time to give it the care it deserves. If you have questions or concerns about your recovery, we’re here to support you!

Dense breast tissue can make it harder to see cancer on a standard mammogram, and women with dense breasts are at a slightly higher risk of developing breast cancer.

💕Regular mammograms remain the gold standard for early detection, and additional imaging tests such as ultrasound or MRI may be recommended for women with dense breasts to improve cancer detection.

If you have dense breasts, talk to your provider about your screening options, and stay on top of your breast health by scheduling your mammogram today:
