Melissa started her career providing individual counseling to survivors of domestic violence and then became a Grief, Loss, and Trauma Therapist, working with survivors of homicide and other violent crimes, a role that deepened her commitment to community mental health. Her experience also includes serving as a School-Based Therapist, offering counseling and support to adolescents at several area schools, helping youth navigate emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
In 2025 she transitioned to private practice, where she provides individual, couples, and family counseling for clients ages 16 and up. This move has allowed her to offer more personalized and holistic care, continuing a passion for helping people through life’s challenges, and witnessing their growth and resilience.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with her blended family, three grandchildren, and their rescue dog Maggie. She loves reading, traveling, live music, and quiet moments at home. She has visited seven countries—Ireland being her favorite, and she hopes to retire there one day.
