We did it! 🎉🐝

The Bee Bill (SB927) has officially passed the Senate Agriculture Committee! This is a huge step forward for West Virginia beekeepers and everyone who supports strong, consistent apiary protections across our state. Thank you to Senators Hart, Thorne, and Chapman for championing this bill!

Next stop: the full Senate floor

Now’s the time — reach out to your Senators and encourage them to vote YES on SB927. Let’s keep the momentum going! 💛🐝

Canaan Valley may have been the coldest place in the lower 48 —
but it’s not frozen all life.

Things have been growing all along.

You don’t panic at the forecast.
You let winter do what winter does.

Some plants get a heat mat.
Others want a snow blanket.

Mountain grown.

It’s been a long winter. Today’s new moon ushers in the Year of the Horse — a turn toward movement and endurance.

Amaryllis (Hippeastrum), sometimes called “horse’s ears” for the shape of their petals, feel especially fitting right now. Upright, strong-stemmed, and long-lasting.

Let these blooms carry you through the home stretch of winter.

I came away from the DirtCon Flower Farming Conference in January with a lot of great ideas — and one challenge I decided to take seriously: do something out of your comfort zone.

So here we are. Another selfie.

The sun’s out. The ice can melt. And I am here with my summer farm tools to bash it into smaller bits.

Is this the face of a VRBO Premier Host? A flower farmer? Or just a basic b@d☆$$ gal getting the job done?

I’ll let you decide. ❄️🌸💪✨
