❤️Today we are thankful for a selfless man who protected students and other staff.

HERO IN HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING: This is the beloved principal of Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma who was shot in the leg today at school. Investigators say Principal Kirk Moore noticed a former student, a 20-year-old named Victor Hawkins, walking into the high school with a gun and Principal Moore and other staff members subdued Hawkins who fired off several rounds. Moore is stable and expected to survive. He’s a hero and saved countless lives. Hawkins has been booked into the Garvin County Jail on two counts of Pointing a Firearm, one count of Shooting with Intent to Kill, and two counts of Unlawful Carry.

No students have been injured, and law enforcement is in the process of assisting the kids with getting to their parents now. The OSBI, Garvin County Sheriff’s Office, Pauls Valley Police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol are all at the scene.

The Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Youth Academy provides opportunity for youth to explore exciting careers in law enforcement! Our 2026 academy will take place June 15-18 in Ada.

Academy topics include teen dating safety, online safety, mental health awareness, physical fitness, victimology, forensic fingerprinting, team building exercises, SWAT and dive team demonstrations, and more.
