Hello Reiki practitioners & body workers, have you noticed, as I have, the increase in clients coming to us with severely impacted nervous systems due to the social and political chaos surrounding us all right now? Who are now managing disruptive thoughts and feelings along side the day to day responsibilities of life, and are seeking some relief?

I'm sure that you, like I am, are grateful to create spaces of trust, safety and support for our clients in this time, as their stressed nervous systems may be drawing up old layers of trauma, and/or absorbing vicarious trauma from the national tensions in the air.

While our intention is always to ease their stress, there are ways in which we can inadvertently trigger that trauma through the way we conduct our sessions or design our spaces.

Distance Reiki (the practice of class inducting a Reiki session for someone who is not physically in the same space as the practitioner) is one of the most mysterious practices within the system of Reiki. But what was the original intended purpose of this practice?
