University of California, Davis Athletics is seeking 2 highly motivated, dedicated professionals for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team. One position is newly created and the second is due to the retirement of a long-time staff member. Sport assignments will be Women’s Soccer/Beach Volleyball and Men’s Water Polo/Women’s Lacrosse. We have a dynamic, well-rounded staff of 14 ATC’s, who are committed to personal and professional growth/development, as well as 3 on site physicians, sport psychologist, dietician, and insurance coordinator. We have 25 athletic teams approximately 650 student athletes who compete predominantly in the Big West conference with Lacrosse joining the Big 12 next year.
Budgeted salary for the positions is $65-72K commensurate with education and experience. The position application closes on 5/2/24.

• Master’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lisa Varnum is retiring from Athletic Training and UC Davis!
Please join us in congratulating Lisa on 37 years at UC Davis. She began her career as a part-time Employee, coaching the UCD Divers and part-time Athletic Trainer. She transitioned to full-time as an Athletic Trainer at UC Davis and has touched so many lives over the years. We will be celebrating Lisa and her long career on June 1st. Hi everyone! The time has finally come for Lisa to retire. I have been in the athletic training room for 35 years and am ready to move on to some rest and relaxation (along with yard work, woodworking, BBQ'ing and a cold adult beverage occassionally)! It’s been a productive day in Los Angeles filming a public service announcement with the in support of my bill, AB 796, which establishes licensure for in California.
