7 Hashimoto's Facts That Blew My Mind 🤯

1️⃣ Many live with Hashimoto's for YEARS before diagnosis—symptoms often dismissed as “normal.”
2️⃣ Women are frequently misdiagnosed with anxiety or depression first.
3️⃣ Shift work may raise your risk by up to 40% thanks to circadian rhythm disruption.
4️⃣ PCOS, endometriosis, type 1 diabetes, and anemia are more common in Hashimoto’s.
5️⃣ Bloating isn’t always gut-related—your thyroid controls how fast digestion moves.
6️⃣ Hair loss can hit your scalp and eyebrows (especially the outer third).
7️⃣ Research shows higher rates of ADHD in people with Hashimoto’s.

💡 Living with Hashimoto’s is more than just thyroid meds—it’s understanding your body and taking steps to truly heal.

If even one of these surprised you, ❤️ this reel and share it so more women get the info they deserve!

7 signs your thyroid may need more support 👇
(and simple ways to start helping your body feel better)

🦋 Hair loss — make sure you’re getting enough protein and key minerals like iron, zinc, and selenium. Think eggs, grass-fed beef, and pumpkin seeds.

🦋 Unexplained weight gain — focus on balancing blood sugar and avoid eating “naked carbs.” Pair carbs with protein or healthy fats to keep energy and metabolism steady.

🦋 Always feeling cold — your thyroid needs nutrients like selenium, iodine, and iron to function properly.

🦋 Mood changes or depression — your gut and thyroid are closely connected, so supporting gut health can make a big difference.

🦋 Constant fatigue — work on nervous system regulation, stress management, and proper nourishment to support adrenal and thyroid function.

🦋 Brain fog — reduce inflammatory foods and toxin exposure that can add stress to your thyroid and immune system.

🦋 Dry skin — prioritize hydration, healthy fats, and nutrient absorption to support skin and hormone balance.

You don’t have to keep guessing your way through symptoms.
You deserve steady energy, mental clarity, and a body that finally feels like yours again. 💛

If you’re ready to address the root cause and get a personalized plan, I’m currently accepting new 1:1 clients.

Out running errands today and filling your cart at Target thinking you’re making “healthy” choices? 🛒

Let’s take a closer look… 👀

If you have Hashimoto’s, it’s not just about what’s on your plate. What you put on your skin and bring into your home can also drive inflammation, disrupt hormones, stress your gut, and aggravate thyroid symptoms.

Here’s what to be mindful of:

Food & Snack Aisles

🚫 Added sugars + sugar alcohols
Even “low sugar” or “keto” snacks can spike blood sugar and leave you dealing with crashes, cravings, and fatigue.

🚫 Inflammatory seed oils
Canola, soybean, sunflower, and other refined oils can promote inflammation and worsen autoimmune flares.

🚫 Hidden gluten & soy
They show up in “healthy” breads, wraps, crackers, protein bars, and sauces — and for many women with Hashimoto’s, they’re major triggers.

🚫 Artificial sweeteners & additives
Ingredients like aspartame, sucralose, and carrageenan can irritate the gut — and gut health plays a huge role in immune balance.

Beauty & Home Products

🚫 Parabens & phthalates
Common in lotions, shampoos, candles, and cosmetics. These are endocrine disruptors that can interfere with hormone balance, including thyroid function.

🚫 Synthetic fragrance
That one word can hide dozens of hormone-disrupting chemicals that contribute to inflammation.

🚫 Triclosan & antibacterial agents
Found in some soaps and cleaners — they can disrupt the microbiome and immune system.

🚫 PFAS (“forever chemicals”)
Found in non-stick cookware, stain-resistant fabrics, and some cleaning products. They accumulate in the body and have been linked to thyroid disruption.

And here’s the kicker…
“Natural,” “organic,” and “clean” don’t always mean thyroid-safe.

Reading labels, choosing whole foods, using fragrance-free skincare, and swapping out toxic home products are simple but powerful ways to lower your overall inflammatory load.

Your immune system is already working overtime. Don’t make it fight your shampoo too. 🩷🦋
