If I had to simplify sustainable weight loss with Hashimoto’s into 6 non-negotiables, it would be this: lower inflammation, balance hormones, and rebuild metabolism—not force weight loss on a stressed body.

Eat whole, nutrient-dense foods (not just “eat less”)
👉 Undereating slows your metabolism

Remove inflammatory foods
👉 Inflammation = insulin resistance = fat storage

Walk daily + prioritize gentle movement
👉 Lower cortisol = better fat loss

Strength train
👉 Muscle = higher metabolism + better hormone sensitivity

Don’t cut carbs—choose the right ones
👉 Carbs support thyroid + prevent cortisol spikes

Weight loss isn’t about doing more-it's about supporting your body so it feels safe to let go!

I’m Melissa… I have Hashimoto’s and I’ve lost 50 lbs.
If you’re ready to lose stubborn weight in a way that actually works with your body, comment “YES” and I’ll message you 🩷🦋

Here’s how I lost 50 lbs… and yes, you can too. 💪✨

And no — it didn’t come from starving myself or living on a treadmill.

It looked like this 👇

I started strength training 3–4x per week.
Not endless cardio — building muscle is what actually changed my metabolism.

I walked daily — especially after meals.
Just 10–15 minutes to support blood sugar and lower cortisol.

I focused on a whole-food, anti-inflammatory diet.
No gluten. No dairy. No soy.
Just real food that supported my body instead of triggering it.

I balanced my blood sugar.
Protein with every meal. No skipping. No crash dieting.

I prioritized sleep like it mattered — because it does.
7–9 hours. Dark room. Phone away. Nervous system supported.

I used targeted supplements based on what my body actually needed — not guesswork.

I made meditation and deep breathing part of my routine.
Because hormone healing requires a regulated nervous system.

I grounded.
I used red light therapy.
I focused on lowering inflammation from the inside out.

This wasn’t a quick fix.
It was rebuilding my metabolism, calming my immune system, and finally working with my body instead of against it.

If I can lose 50 lbs while healing my hormones — you can too.

Hills I Will Die On (as a Hashimoto’s Dietitian/Coach): Part II 👇

1️⃣ It’s okay to take thyroid medication.
If your body needs support, that’s not failure — that’s physiology. Food is powerful. So is medication. Sometimes you need both.

2️⃣ Doing HIIT workouts and running hours on the treadmill is not going to make you lose weight — quite the opposite.
Overtraining spikes cortisol, increases inflammation, and can worsen thyroid conversion. Your body won’t release weight if it feels under attack.

3️⃣ Deep breathing and meditation are not some hokey thing — they’re powerful and they work.
They directly calm your nervous system, lower cortisol, improve vagal tone, and support better thyroid signaling. Regulation is not optional in healing.

4️⃣ Sleep is medicine — you’re not lazy.
If you need 8–9 hours, that’s not weakness. That’s your thyroid asking for repair time. Deep sleep is when hormones regulate, inflammation lowers, and true healing happens.

5️⃣ Healing is not linear and it takes time.
There will be flares, plateaus, and pivots. That doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means your body is adapting.

POV: They told you “you just have a fuller, round face” 😶

But no one told you this 👇

It wasn’t just your face…
It was your hormones.

High cortisol → holding onto inflammation & fluid
High estrogen → more water retention & puffiness
Low progesterone → no balance to stress hormones
Sluggish thyroid → slower metabolism + that “puffy” look

So no…
You weren’t “just built that way.”

Your body was trying to tell you something. 🚨

When you support your hormones the right way, everything starts to shift—
including your face. ✨

Your Hashimoto’s symptoms—😴 fatigue, 🤢 bloating, ⚖️ weight gain—can be reversed ✨
Here’s how 👇

If you’ve been told this is “just how Hashimoto’s is,” I want you to hear this:
These symptoms aren’t random—and they’re not your fault.

They’re often connected to things like:
• gut inflammation
• insulin resistance
• adrenal & hormone imbalances

When you start addressing the root causes (not just TSH), your body can finally respond 💥

💬 Comment VIDEO and I’ll send you a quick 5-minute video explaining how we can work together 1:1 to get to the root of your Hashimoto’s symptoms.
