Johnson & Son Funeral Service was originally established as Moore's Funeral Home in the early 1930's; under the direction of Joseph Moore. Moore diligently served Dawson, GA and surrounding counties until his death in 1968. Following his death, his grandson, Nathaniel Johnson assumed directorship of the funeral home until his health failed. Johnson Jr. and his father, Ernest Johnson, picked up the

reigns and pressed on with the family business. Together they labored until the demise of Ernest Johnson Sr. in 2004. Ernest M. Johnson is currently owner and operator of the Johnson & Son Funeral Service.
