Tips to stay regular and symptom free during the holidays:
-This season can be stressful. Increased stress makes our muscles more tense (even your pelvic floor muscles). Increased tension in our pelvic floor can create pain and cause issues with bowel and bladder function. Take time for relaxing, do what helps you relax the most:
-10 minutes a day with your favorite drink in a relaxing position.
-Long showers.
- Taking a walk outside or exercising, even if it is only 10 minutes.
- Keep up with eating healthy foods. Enjoy the holiday treats but donβt neglect the foods that make your body feel good and keep your bowel and bladder functions regular.
-Drink plenty of water.
- Feeling a little backed up from all of the holiday treats? Try some magnesium calm, it can help your whole body relax, in also relaxing your bowels and drawing water into your system making it easier to go. Do not push hard to go. Try using a step stool while seated to use the restroom it will help put you in more of a relaxed position. Before going to the bathroom try some deep squatting to help your body get into a relaxed state and put your re**um in a more optimal position.
