An indica-dominant cultivar (80% indica/20% sativa), the extensive history of the Blueberry goes back to the 1970s when the breeder DJ Short, also known as the “Willy Wonka” of cannabis, was developing various exotic landrace strains. The original parental lineage is a three-way cross (Afghani x Thai x Purple Thai), however, the Blueberry genetics have been passed around to multiple seed banks and breeding companies that DJ Short collaborated with over the years. The taste is described as a sweet blueberry funk, reminiscent of a blueberry pie. It is known for its sedative, sleep inducing, analgesic quality. The Blueberry genetics have been used to create many award-winning cultivars such as the Blue Dream and Blue Widow along with various other berry varietals.
