Meet Daniel Pohlman, our PGY3! Dan is originally from Dayton, Ohio and attended medical school at our beloved Wright State University. He’s interested in general reconstruction and trauma. He says his hobbies are traveling and home improvement

Favorite Thing About Program: “Faculty are genuinely invested in your education and development as a surgeon. One-on-one instruction in the OR with high case volume and operative autonomy.”

Next resident spotlight is Dr. Christos Haveles, our PGY-3! He is from Brooklyn, CT and attended med school at UCLA. His interests within plastic surgery include Aesthetics, general reconstruction, body contouring, microsurgery, and gender affirmation surgery. Dr. Haveles also loves traveling, second dinners, working out, tennis, learning about different cultures and new languages, real estate. His favorite thing about our program is that, “Faculty are invested in residents’ education and training with early operative autonomy. Residents are kind and supportive of each other.”

Fun fact: “I’m Greek - love the language and sharing the culture”

If you were a flap what would you be and why? “DIEP - who doesn’t like a two-for-one deal?”

Meet Dr. Angermeyer, PGY-4! She originally is from Stilwell, KS. She went to med school at the University of South Carolina SOM Greenville. Her interests within plastic surgery are General Reconstruction and Hand. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Angermeyer says, “I love horseback riding and have a horse I lease here in town named Mia!” When asked her favorite thing about our program, she says “the people here are truly wonderful. Dr. Johnson has to be the nicest program director in the whole country and we have such a good team of residents.”

Fun fact about me: “I grew up on a peach farm.”

If you were a flap what would you be and why? I would be a free radial forearm because it is reliable and versatile.

Next up for our resident highlights is Fatemeh Mirzamohammadi- our PGY5. She is originally from Tehran, Iran and attended Zanjan University of Medical Sciences. Her interests within plastic surgery are general plastic surgery, Microsurgery and peripheral nerve reconstruction, Facial reanimation, Breast recon and aesthetics. She also enjoys Science, Traveling, Human Rights Activities, Graphite Art. Her favorite thing about our program is our Program Director, Dr. Johnson! “He is THE BEST! You can not find a better person in the Whole World! Seriously! As a resident in this program, you have his support for your life.”
Fun fact: “Just a girl with big dreams, I’m an international med grad navigating the intricate world of plastic surgery in the USA! I’m determined to prove that dreams recognize no borders and scalpels certainly have no gender.”
If you were a flap what would you be and why? “A muscle-sparing perforator flap. Much like this flap, I strive to be precise and efficient. These flaps are known for their ability to minimize damage to surrounding muscles, highlighting a focus on preservation, meticulousness and developed surgical skills.”

Meet the residents! Starting off with our chief, Dr. Andrew Parrish, PGY-6! Name: Andrew Parrish
PGY-6. Dr. Parrish is originally from Columbus, OH
and attended med school at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His interests within plastic surgery include aesthetics, body contouring, facial trauma, and breast reconstruction. In his free time, he loves baking (he’s currently working through Dessert Person), cooking, international travel, swimming/water sports. He says his favorite thing about our program is the early operative autonomy and high volume of cases.
Fun fact about Dr. Parrish: “I studied abroad in Ecuador in college and got to meet the tortoise Lonesome George in the Galápagos Islands.”
If you were a flap what would you be and why? “ A Rhomboid flap - versatile and classic”
